Abingdon Kindergarten Ltd - Long Furlong has four main rooms, in a purpose-built two-storey building. Long Furlong is part of a small community surrounded by a primary school, park and recreational ground. This offers greater opportunity for all ages to enjoy social walks and visits to the stimulating surroundings.

The premises are maintained to the highest standards, well above those demanded to satisfy the child care registration bodies, Ofsted, environmental health and fire regulations.

The nursery is pleased to report that ongoing dedication to the provision of high-quality child care and career development for staff has been recognised by the local business community. The Abingdon Kindergarten Group was the first childcare provider in Oxfordshire to achieve the national award for Investors in People, and this is something they are proud to have continued.

Abingdon Kindergarten is now taking applications for the new 9-month-old, 2-year-old and three-year-old funded children. 15 and 30-hour places are also available.

Staff are absolutely incredible. They could not do more for us as a family. They have been nothing but supportive and strive to push children forward and help their development. I can not put into words how amazing the team are. They really care about the children and families too. I'm so glad my son

Our daughter has been attending the nursery since November 2022 and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The nursery staff have always been extremely supportive to us and our daughter. We feel that she goes in every day happy and excited to be there. They have adapted to meet her needs and we feel
she gets tailored support for what she needs from the day. Her key workers over the years have got to know her and really bring out the best in her. Our daughter has some special needs and the staff have also integrated themselves well with the NHS and county council professionals who have come to support her.
The staff all seem to be really kind and have a great rapport with the children - its obvious watching all the other children come out at the end of the day how much they enjoy their days at the nursery. We know other parents of children at the nursery and they would all say the same.

I have two children in the nursery; one in pre-school and one in the baby room. Both love their time at the nursery. The elder has learnt so much in such a short time from being able to identify Australia on a globe to writing her own name at barely 3 years old. The younger is happy, content and sleeps
well at nursery (I wish he slept that well at home!). There are many different activities including drawing, tuff tray exploration and even a visit to a baby spa!

My daughter has attended Abingdon Kindergarten for nearly two years. She is always so happy going to nursery and coming home. The staff are so lovely and caring. They do so many activities which I think is amazing, and my daughter always comes home telling us about them. I highly recommend this nursery.

My children love their time at Abingdon Kindergarten. The level of care is outstanding and my daughter will even ask to go to nursery at the weekend. The staff really know the children well and are able to really tailor both the learning and emotional development specifically. In the baby room, sleep
routines are observed, nappies are changed regularly and the activities are stimulating and varied. There is a consistency to ensure the babies feel comfortable and that they can communicate their needs even without the ability to speak.
The preschool at the nursery is really excellent. The children are taught a whole range of information, songs, stories and skills in innovative and creative ways. There is guided learning and independent play in which pupils are encouraged to socialise widely.
Both my children are at ease in the nursery giving me the confidence to leave them each morning and know they are going to be happy, well cared for and nurtured.

I have taken my daughter to a different nursery before this one, but I’m so glad I moved to Abingdon Kindergarten. The staff know their children very well and the needs of each child. My daughter has come home many times telling me about her day and how she’s done various activities. The snacks and
tea they provide have a very good variation and are healthy. The garden area also has a lot of different areas to explore and widens their imagination.

My son has been at the Nursery since he was 9 months old. He loves going. His key worker is amazing with him and every time I collect him he has had a brilliant day. Our son had a wonderful time at this nursery, and now his younger sister has started there too - we were so happy with the service we wouldn't have sent her anywhere else. The nursery is excellent at providing the care and learning needed for babies and toddlers. We sent our daughter when she was 8 months old. She has grown to be quite independent and has picked up a lot of social skills that we would not have been able to impart by ourselves. Truly amazing development

We sent both our boys to Abingdon Kindergarten and they have loved it - our eldest is about to start Primary School and as we have moved away from Abingdon it makes practical sense to move our youngest, otherwise, he would have stayed. The staff are so caring and put so much effort into their activities
with the children - ours regularly return home with backpacks full of craft materials and stories from the exciting things they’ve been up to, as well as namechecking the staff and other children they’ve been playing with that day. The nursery have been very accommodating with extra days of childcare during holiday periods, and are always informative on what is happening and coming up for nursery events. Thoroughly recommend.

My child has been attending Abingdon Kindergarten since she was 1. We had to choose a nursery in the middle of the covid pandemic and this one really stood out. The staff were kind and understanding whilst we were first time parents fretting about leaving our child! She is now in preschool and continues
to love attending. We get updates at the end of the day via handover and a more in depth update via the app. The range of activities the children do ensures they are never bored and my word does she sleep well after a nursery day! She also enjoys the variety of snacks the nursery provides. I know she will miss the staff and her peers when she starts school.

We have a great experience with the nursery. Our 2.5 year old daughter loves the nursery. She is engaged in hearing stories, singing songs, outdoor plays, crafts and more. This is not the only nursery we have used but by far the best. The team are friendly and our little girl has loved it. Our only initial reservation was having to provide lunches - but given the superior experience this shouldn't put anyone off making this the preferred choice when looking at a nursery.

My daughter started in the preschool room and had never previously been to a nursery so I was very worried about how she would settle but all the staff have been amazing and given her all the patience, encouragement, and support she has needed to feel secure and now she talks about them at home all
the time. She has loved spending time with the ducks in the garden and this is definitely a highlight of her day. I love I get a full update of her day including pictures via the app so I can see just how much she enjoys her time at nursery. The activities she gets up to are always exciting and varied so I know she is having the best day while there. Thank you to all staff for making her feel so welcome at Abingdon Kindergarten.

Hi, my name is Kyle.


I have had a strong footing and a keen interest in the early years and child care for over twenty years. During this time I have developed a belief that children should have access to the outdoors as much as possible, this is where they flourish.


Following my own interests in the outdoors has led me towards forest school and more recently permaculture. Taking inspiration from these two areas and mixing them has led me in the past to creating outdoor curriculums that produced excited, emotionally intelligent learners that were ready to move onto school for the next stage in their learning journey.

My creative background has allowed me to look at problems I have faced with an open mind and look outside the box for the best possible solutions.

Hi my name is Jess. I have worked in childcare for 14 years and I have a huge passion for helping children learn. Seeing their happy little faces everyday brings me pure joy! Sensory play is one of my favourite things to plan for our children and finding new ways to develop and stimulate children's senses in their day to day learning is one of my talents.
