Bright Horizons Harpenden Central Day Nursery and Preschool is based in a beautiful listed building located in the heart of Harpenden.

The nursery offers high-quality care and education for babies aged 3 months to children up to 5 years old.

With a highly qualified, long-standing team who provide a home from home nursery environment, long opening hours, 7am - 7pm, and being just a two-minute walk from the train station and only a 20-minute train ride into London Kings Cross, the setting is great for commuting parents.

The expansive adventure garden provides children with a safe and enjoyable outdoor space for exploration. It features a climbing frame, a water feature, a mud kitchen area, and a separate, cosy and secure baby garden. Children spend time outdoors every day.

Additionally, the nursery and pre-school rooms have the advantage of direct garden access, allowing for free-flow access for the children. And while your child is busy exploring and having fun, the team can keep you updated via the Family app. Available for all Bright Horizons parents, this will keep you connected with your child's day-to-day experiences as they develop during their time at the setting.

There is an on-site chef who bakes and cooks with the children on a weekly basis to instil an understanding of nutrition and prepares delicious, healthy and nutritious food. The menus change seasonally and cater for all dietary and religious needs. The kitchen holds a 5* EHO rating for food safety and hygiene.

Harpenden Day Nursery is a very friendly nursery, our 2 children (aged 19 months and 3 years) are very happy here. Asquith provides a great learning environment for them and they have lots of excellent resources. The outdoor play area is great fun too. They offer a very varied food menu which the children
enjoy. Staff are always smiley! We are very happy with our choice.

We absolutely love the nursery and received some outstanding care from all the staff. Who are always caring and attentive. I would like to highlight the hard work of a particular carer in ensuring our son settled quickly and integrated after disruption at another nursery in the area. The only downside
of the nursery is the cost and mobility to use our council provided free hours on days that would allow my wife to return to work.

My daughter has been attending Asquith since she turned 2. Throughout her time at the nursery, I have been impressed with the care shown to her by the staff. It's a small, friendly nursery where everyone knows each other by name. She has flourished! The facilities are great - especially the playground.
The chef prepares delicious foods - she eats better food at nursery than at home. The only downside is the fees, which keep increasing.

The nursery has been incredibly supportive. They helped identify that our son had a hearing problem which required medical treatment. They were supportive in plans to encourage speech and development of hearing after the operation. The care and attention they demonstrated is great and I'd recommend
the nursery to others.

My son has been at the nursery since he was 10 months old. The staff were brilliant at settling him in and they really took an interest in what he liked and enjoyed doing, even at such an early age. This has consistently been the case and I'm confident he's getting the best care while my husband and
I work full time. The focus on development is excellent and my son is so happy here, he has formed strong bonds with all his key workers and his social skill are brilliant.

Our little boy is really happy and very settled at nursery. We are always comfortable dropping him off and it's clear he is happy to be there and he looks forward to seeing his key workers and friends. He has always eaten well and I have always been pleased with the different foods he eats there. He
definitely gets good use of the garden and loves being outside. This is great because he is such an active boy and needs regular exercise! The staff are very approachable and the new management have fully made a difference- it all seems very settled. All in all I am extremely happy with Asquith!!

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Amnah joined Bright Horizons in January 2021 as a Deputy Manager and has since had the fantastic opportunity to progress to Nursery Manager. She is a qualified Early Years Teacher and also holds a BA Hons in Business Management.


She strives to support the team in providing outstanding childcare and education for families. Her passion is ensuring that all children receive the best start in life and experience a sense of awe and wonder at the nursery.
