Hopscotch Regents Park opened the doors to its spacious, detached Edwardian property in November 2020. Just to the west of Southampton Common, the nursery is minutes away from Southampton city centre, has good access to the M27, M271 and M3 Motorways and there is ample safe off-road parking for parents dropping off and picking up children. Situated on Regents Park Road, the nursery is right in the heart of Shirley, ideally located for easy access to Shirley’s local amenities and regular visits to Shirley’s many green spaces, or the local library.

Outdoor play is an important part of learning and the large gardens at Regents Park provide ample space and equipment for all age-groups to have fun, explore and learn to manage risk. The nursery team offers a variety of activities based on age and stage of development. Physical play is encouraged with bikes, cars, hoops and balls, and there is climbing equipment, and a playhouse in the garden to develop imaginative play. Sand and water play facilities help to develop their sensory experiences, while the diverse garden environment encourages engagement with nature and conversation about the different wildlife they find. There is wet weather gear available at the setting allowing use of the garden in all weather conditions.

Inside, the nursery offers large spacious rooms which allow continuous provision and free flow movement, and they work hard to ensure that all children are engaged with purposeful play so that each and every one of them is supported to develop their full potential. To support this, they work in partnership with parents to ensure that the needs of all families are met. Hopscotch Day Nurseries have been providing exceptional childcare in the Gosport / Fareham area since 2005, and are very proud of the high standard of care they provide. My son started at Hopscotch as a baby. He’s still there a year later as a toddler and loves it! He gets on so well with the staff in his room and we can tell they genuinely care about the work they’re doing and the children they look after. This has been evident in both rooms he’s been in.
He has frequently
come home with new skills, words and songs he likes to sing.
They offer a range of activities for him, including ones we’re not able to offer him at home.
The garden area is fantastic and it’s great how often the children are out there playing and exploring, even in the winter!
We are so happy with our choice to enrol our son at Hopscotch.

Hopscotch Day Nursery at Regents Park is amazing. We have seen a big difference with our little boy since he has been going. His skills and knowledge have improved big time and he's evening teaching us new things every day. The staff go above and beyond to make sure the children are well looked after.
The chef cooks amazing meals for all of the children and they involve the parents to devise a menus. The outside area is our little boy's favourite area of the nursery and he loves playing with his friends on the bikes and the slide. I cannot recommend Hopscotch enough. It's an amazing place.

Absolute superstars! I trust the team 100% with my little boy. He loves it too! Thankful to have found this gem! I can’t imagine sending my son anywhere else. They accept him and allow him to express himself. I haven’t got a bad word to say.

Our little boy joined the nursery in December and we have been delighted with how nurturing and caring the staff have been. He has already formed a very strong attachment to his key worker, to the point he doesn’t like her out of his sight! We love that he feels so clearly cared about.
The nursery
has been so supportive of us as first-time parents, supporting us with the transition so sensitively. No ask has been too much.
We are so looking forward to seeing the progress our son has made continue in the next months, and would highly recommend the setting to other parents.

We love Hopscotch Regents Park. The staff are amazing and have such a great bond with my daughter. The staff have also taken the time to build a good relationship with me, I really can't fault them at all. My daughter has such a great time there, she is always excited when we pull up in the mornings.
The investment they have put into the building and the garden has really paid off and the staff are a credit to Hopscotch.

Our child has been at Hopscotch for the last two months and she has had a very comfortable and stress-free transition from maternity care. The nursery is clean and well supervised, veggie food well catered for and staff have good knowledge of what has happened throughout the day with our daughter. Everything
is well reported on the website for us to access, so we know if she has eaten and slept well. Would highly recommend it, thanks Hopscotch Day Nursery.

Both my children attend Hopscotch Day Nursery Regents Parkin Shirely, Southampton.
We chose this nursery due to it's proximity to our home and the fact that it had recently been taken over by Hopscotch and had good reviews as a result.
Our first born settled very well and has been happy there for
well over a year now.
Our second born has started at nursery much earlier in her life than our eldest and so we are having a new experience in that respect, but the staff are fantastic which has helped immensely.
The staff are warm and kind to our children and we know this through a combination of our contact with them at drop off and pick up and the feedback we get from our eldest.
There are always good activities and games and the garden space provides a wonderful outdoor environment for our children.
The observations we are sent via the app are heartwarming and lovely and provide a great insight into what goes on whilst we are at work.
We are all very happy.

Outstanding preschool. My son absolutely loves going in and always comes out with a smile on his face. Brilliant knowledgable staff members and you can really see that they love what they do. Kind hearted children, good tasks and activities.

I could not be happier with the level of care given by staff to my little boy. He came very shy in September and with the support and encouragement of the preschool team he has really blossomed. He's a lot more confident and happy. He is always so enthusiastic when talking about preschool. He comes
home with new facts about the world around him. He's developed great friendships with his peers. I could not recommend this nursery enough! Special thanks to two members of staff in particular in preschool for their amazing care!

The Hopscotch Day Nursery Regents Park on Regents Park is a wonderful place. My daughter started nursery on February and I was very anxious but the staff are amazing and very supportive.
My little girl didn't speak English before she starts and now she sing and say a lot a word, it is such a relief
to see how she is happy at nursery.

Our son has been at Hopscotch Day Nursery Regents Park since September. He had previously attended another pre-school on the other side of the city and whilst there weren't major concerns things hadn't progressed correctly on a number of things. Hopscotch have listened to the issues that we had been
facing and have really helped to progress our son.
They are a much friendlier team and he has been able to overcome 2 of the 3 hurdles which we were concerned about and we feel as if the third hurdle is just a matter of time now.
I'm also really pleased to hear about the opening of the improved outdoor facilities and look forward to visiting at its official launch to parents.
Big thanks to the whole team, in particular his keyworker.

Our boy absolutely loves Hopscotch Day Nursery, it’s like a home away from home for him. He loves all the activities and games, especially singing songs and playing in the lovely garden. It’s so nice after so long isolating to see his social skills really developing. Also, he always gets a great variety
of food and pretty much always eats everything. All the staff are super friendly and it’s really reassuring to know how happy he is there.

Lovely staff and caring.

Wouldn't mind knowing what are the options when it comes to dietary requirements. We can see the meals rotation but not much info when it comes to requirements.

All the girls in baby room who look after my son are great, when we ask about his day at pick up they can always tell us what he has done, telling us they have all given him attention that day. Communication is good and nursery have always been accommodating if we needed to change or adjust his hours.
It is clear to see Arthur loves going into nursery as there is never a day he doesn't come out smiling. Very happy parents.

My daughter enjoyed Hopschotch nursery from the beginning. She loves her teachers and friends. She learns alphabet, numbers, colours and shapes. I really recommend Hopschotch. This is a beautiful and friendly place for your little one.

Our daughter was 9 months when I went back to work, we were so nervous about putting her in childcare at this age but the staff at hopscotch, Regent’s Park, made all of us feel at ease. We chose this nursery based on the outside space, cleanliness and helpfulness of staff. She is happy to go and has
great relationships with the staff. She is very advanced and coming on so well. When faced with a particular issue with our work situation, management really helped us with the issue at hand and made life so much easier for us without it ever being problem. Our daughter is now 17 months and we can’t see her going anywhere until she starts school. We highly recommend this nursery and the staff are brilliant!

My name is Becky, I am originally from Lincolnshire and relocated to Southampton where I met my husband.

I have been working in childcare for over 20 years. I have gained my Early Years Professional Status as well as my BA in Childhood studies whilst I have been living in Southampton.

I have managed a few other settings across Southampton and Hampshire and have been a nursery manager for over 11 years.

I am lucky to have my own son, Ezra, who is our IVF miracle and will be attending Hopscotch with me too. I also have 2 cats, Chips & Daisy, who I am sure you will hear about including how their names link to Disney!

When I am not looking after Ezra, the cats or working I love to read, go for walks and watch films.

I have worked for Hopscotch for the past 2 years and worked in early years for over 15 years gaining lots of experience and developing my knowledge during this time. I am very passionate about sharing stories and my love of caring for animals. You may often hear me burst into song during the day as I love to communicate with the children through music.


I am a mummy to a child with additional needs and understand the support needed for the whole family and the importance of supporting children in individual ways.
