Hedge End is one of two new additions to The Mulberry Bush family. Previously known as Little Acorns, the Hedge End setting is now part of a growing story. It’s a warm, welcoming space where children feel safe, loved, and ready to explore.

The following fixed fees apply across all our rooms — Strawberries, Raspberries and Elderberries (3 months – 4 years).

For eligible families, we’re able to accept government funding.

Non-funded Half Day £54.50 (AM) and £49.50 (PM)
Fully Funded Full Day £16.40 (food, consumables, and 30-minute charge)
Fully Funded Half Day £8.20 (food and consumables only)

Partially Funded Full Day (e.g., 2 hours of funding used) £51 (8.5 hours x £6 hourly rate) + £10 (food and consumables) = £61

My son has thrived since coming to this nursery, all the staff have been amazing and are really caring towards the kids. The refurbishment is really outstanding.

My children have been going to this nursery collectively for 7 years, and I cannot recommend them enough, the setting is incredible, with a recent fabulous refurb and always plenty of activities for the children, delicious meals and snacks, and wonderful outdoor space. I wouldn't look anywhere else for my little ones!

Our daughter started this nursery back in April and she is thriving. The space is very clean and bright. She adores all the sensory toys that they provide. When she started, she would barely touch solid food, now she eats everything offered to her! The meals they have a wholesome and we love the updates through the app whilst we are at work. We are kept up to date with how and what shes eaten, how shes napped and nappy changes. If we ever have concerns our messages are replied to quickly. 10/10 nursery!

As a first time parents sending our son to nursery was very daunting, but we couldn't have made a better decision in the nursery we chose. All the staff are friendly, caring and supportive and our son loves it.

Mulberry took over the prior setting that was here at hedge end, in 2025. At first I was apprehensive due to the changes they had to make in quick succession, however I can now appreciate why the changes were needed and how they have transformed the setting from both a safety perspective, safeguarding, staffing improvements and lastly the renovations they completed. The transformation is incredible, and the benefits this has brought to the children are immeasurable.

I am incredibly impressed especially with the attitude of the staff. From senior leaders down to the practitioners- I know my daughter is in amazing hands.

We've had such a positive experience with the nursery, especially since the renovation. The whole environment feels completely transformed - brighter, more modern, and so much safer for the children. The toddler section in particular looks fantastic and has really exceeded our expectations.
Before the renovation, we did have some reservations and felt a little nervous about the old structure and layout of toddler's section. However, the changes that have been made have given us so much confidence and peace of mind. It now feels like a secure, welcoming, and well-designed space for little ones to learn and grow.

We were also really impressed with how smoothly the transition and renovation process was handled. The nursery managed to keep everything running so well during the work, with very little disruption. It was clear that a lot of care and planning went into making sure the children remained comfortable and settled throughout.

All three of my children have attended The Mulberry Bush. When the new owners took over I was a little anxious, however, my son has thrived. The new renovation has been exciting to watch, my son has come home every day and told us about the new exciting things at nursery and has been particularly excited about the new garden space. The re has been a high staff turnover but we have been informed every step of the way and the new staff have gotten to know the children quickly. I have also felt that my child has been looked after, loved and well cared for at The Mulberry Bush. What more could ask for.

Chloe Brown
Chloe BrownJob Title:Nursery ManagerJoined: 2024

Chloe has worked in childcare for nearly six years, progressing from a Level 3 Apprentice to Nursery Manager at our Hedge End setting. She holds qualifications in Childcare, Makaton, and Understanding Children’s Mental Health. Previously working as an SENCO, Chloe continues to maintain strong links with the SEN team and enjoys supporting children through their individual milestones. She also played a key role in the Hedge End nursery renovation.

Chloe began her Mulberry Bush journey in 2024 before transferring over to Hedge End in 2025 to assist in the beginnings of the renovation.

Alex Callahan
Alex CallahanJob Title:Nursery Deputy ManagerJoined: 2024

Alex joined The Mulberry Bush in 2024 as Deputy Room Lead in the toddler room at Hedge End. Her enthusiasm, dedication, and natural connection with children quickly led her to progress into the Preschool Room Leader role before becoming Nursery Deputy Manager.

Having supported children, families, and staff throughout the nursery’s transition, Alex has played an important role in helping shape the setting into the welcoming environment it is today.
