Sherfield Early Years Centre

My son never really enjoyed going to the Nursery and in 7 months never bought anything home that he’d done during the day. The school has lovely grounds and the staff were generally fine but the Nursery was going through a transition period and there were some significant issues including with safeguarding. Fees were put up and parents weren’t told. They run the Nursery largely in isolation from the main school so there’s little monitoring of what goes on. When I tried to bring up issues the Head of Prep acknowledged issues but never came back to me to see if things had changed or properly address the concerns. The Head of the School was just rude and had no interest in what was wrong. I’ve dealt with and worked in a lot of private schools and it just wasn’t the experience you would expect. We had really thought we’d found a school that would take our children right through to 18 but unfortunately not. Really would not recommend.

Lovely setup with friendly staff and excellent structured learning. Our daughter has thrived since starting here, and we would highly recommend it. Small groups and well-managed activities that are overseen by caring staff.

Overall, I highly recommend this school.

Fabulous setting, very welcoming environment and great staff. We were supported very well during the settling in of our daughter, and we had received great flexibility during the Covid-19 times. We would highly recommend it.

Sherfield Nursery has been wonderful since the day our daughter first attended back in March. The staff are lovely, grounds and facilities next to none, and our daughter has been happy to attend since day one. They provide constant updates through an app, and you can see through this the activities they do and the good quality food they eat. They have also been great with our daughter's many allergies. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, such a lovely nursery.

Both my boys have attended Sherfield Nursery from the baby room to the big school with the youngest finishing pre-reception this summer. They are happy there, the staff are attentive and go the extra mile for both the children and parents. Communication is excellent and has improved immensely over the years. We get daily updates of what's been happening through the app and at collection, we speak to the teachers as well which is great. They have activity mornings where you go into the classrooms with the kids to see what they get up to during the day. The nursery has adapted well by continuing with parent updates via Zoom. Kids use the library, computer whiteboards, learn French, German and Spanish. l also love that they have big grounds, the children have daily walks and the playground for fresh air. I'm grateful for how my children have grown and the skills they have acquired to prepare them for school. l couldn't have chosen a better nursery. l would definitely recommend to anyone.

Our daughter has attended Sherfield Nursery since November 2020 starting in the caterpillar's room, and we just can’t recommend the nursery enough. She settled really quickly and soon was getting really excited to go to nursery. The staff are amazing! The atmosphere is lovely, and the facilities they have including so much land to explore is just great. It’s really lovely to know your child’s getting fresh air and beautiful walks rain or shine. Our daughter has just progressed so much at nursery we love it. She’s just moved into the ladybird's room and is starting to settle well here, and again, we’re seeing things such as her ability to completely self-feed now; it’s just amazing how quickly they seem to learn.

Very happy with the care and support my baby girl received from Sherfield Nursery. She has settled in well and looks forward to going to the nursery. I would recommend this nursery to my friends and family.

I joined my little one in Sherfield nursery/School, and I never regretted it. They took individual care of each and every child and helped my son to learn things independently. The teaching methods are creative, and the child never gets bored. I am more than happy to recommend this school/nursery.

I am so pleased we decided to have our son join your nursery! Our little boy adores each day there, which is action-packed and has aided his development immensely over the last few months. Having a view on what they do each day in photos is the highlight of my day and is so very appreciated. I can’t fault the nursery, and would unreservedly recommend to anyone looking for that perfect nursery.

My elder goes to Sherfield school, and we got our little one enrolled in the nursery, and we are very pleased with how the little one is progressing, and the care he was given. He loves it there, and the staff is very good and supportive, and my kid loves his caretakers. A fab place made more fabulous by the wonderful staff.

My two girls have been in Sherfield (reception and nursery) for two years now. We had been to three other nurseries prior to this and I have visited a lot of other nurseries and Sherfield is really the best in my opinion. The standard of learning is high, class sizes are small (the rooms are very big by the way), the teachers are great and highly experienced. The kids have access to all the school facilities, including library and gym which they start to use when they are three years. I would definitely recommend.

I didn’t think I will go and look at it, but it is interesting and make parents feel relaxed about their baby, be sure he/she safe and happy.

My little one has been there since he was 14 months and never looked back. Great care, inspiring education and amazing facilities. The culture is positive, understanding and challenging and I am often amazed at the progress they make at such an early age. Class sizes are kept small allowing everyone to be nurtured. Early years were very emotionally supportive and the carers formed real bonds with those in their care to the point that they are still positively remembered by the child years later (even when they only cared for them whilst he was under two). I look forward to many more years there seeing him grow into the best version he can be.

Lovely staff, both in the nursery and in the wider school and a friendly welcome; especially so considering the current climate we find ourselves in. Our son adores being there and smiles when he sees the team each morning; enough said.

This is an excellent nursery and the staff are brilliant. This was most apparent during the COVID-19 outbreak where their management of the situation was excellent. The staff were really good with my daughter during that time. My daughter has moved to the next class but still speaks affectionately about her.

A fantastic nursery with great attentive staff; who celebrate in seeing your children develop right along with you. Always willing to go the extra mile and my son has been extremely happy in his 1.5 years at the nursery to date!

My son's time at Sherfield has seen him develop and grow into a loving, kind and intelligent boy, a lot of this is due to the work that the nursery practitioners put in with him. He looks forward to going to nursery every morning, this is amazing to see. Thank you for all your hard work.

My child has been going to Sherfield School Nursery, three days a week since he was 18 months old. The tutors are very kind and caring to the pupils. The children have great activities at school and have lots of fun. The school has an application that lets parents follow their children with photos and know what activities pupils have at school. Other than the positive sides for me, the only problem is the school management needs to be more sensitive about cleaning and hygiene issues. The children are very young and have weak immune systems. They are picking up the germs very quickly. The toilet taps in the Pre-Reception are too close to the sinks and children touch their hands on the dirty sink whilst washing hands. There is no progress although I mentioned this problem lots of time, it still has not been done.

The staff are great at what they do. Very polite and always attentive to our needs as parents and most importantly the needs of our little girl. The development and learning that has taken place can really be seen and we feel that a large amount of our little girl's growth is down to her experience at this nursery.
