Rotherly Day Nursery

Overall I can't fault Rotherly nursery and feel that my daughter is being given the best possible start to education their.

Well done to all involved, we are very grateful as a family for everything.

I can't recommend this nursery enough! The staff are absolutely amazing, caring, attentive and always engaging with the children. My son has been to three other daycares in Winchester and this one stands out as the best by far. I can see the effort they put into activities, ensuring the kids are not only well cared for but also learning and having fun. It's such a relief to know my child is in a safe and nurturing environment. Highly recommend!

Staff are all very friendly and keep you updated with how your child is getting on and settling in. Good facilities both indoors and outdoors. The nursery is always very tidy and clean. Staff are always very attentive to the children with learning and development.

I would highly recommend Rotherley Day Nursery and it is in a great location if you have siblings at the local primary schools. We love it.

After a difficult experience in previous childcare settings, we have been able to truly appreciate how nurturing and wonderful Rotherly Day Nursery is. Our son is so happy there and we are so grateful to the team for their noticing and meeting his needs at a very individual level. He talks so positively of his time at preschool and has made leaps and bounds in his progress.

A wonderful setting, supported by staff who are passionate about the children attending. The daily activities set up are reflective of the children's interests and imaginative play. Each class has their own outdoor area and they get to mix classes and experience different social activities. All the staff at Rotherly Day Nursery are amazing and share daily learning and achievements with us at pick up time. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and supportive and made us feel welcome from Day one! The Famly app is great and we can see what our Grandchildren have had to eat, how long they have slept and any incidents/accidents recorded. We are very happy with this Nursery and thank them all for their support in helping our little ones on their journey!

This nursery is absolutely outstanding! I can't fault this nursery one bit, I'm so reassured at leaving my daughter to be looked after by the most nurturing, passionate and dedicated members of the team. Everyone at the nursery is incredible but a huge shout out to one member of staff in caterpillars, a member of staff in rainbows room and a massive shoutout to the nursery manager, who without a doubt has turned this nursery around, from being great to now outstanding! She has got to know the children, interacting with and learning them all and welcoming to all parents, the children aren't a number to her, and that's what makes this nursery a community. I'm so proud my children have been apart of this nursery and couldn't rate it higher! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for looking after our girls so beautifully!

The facilities are brilliant, especially the outdoor space. Even the baby room has an enormous garden. The children do lots of wonderful activities and the staff are kind and helpful.

My son was at Rotherly for over three years. We were very happy with the care he received. He loved every day there. Staff are caring, approachable and supportive. My son's confidence grew throughout his time there and I couldn't recommend it more.

There’s more attention to cleaning, I love that staff and kids wear slippers in the nursery. Furthermore, we never lost or damaged any clothes there! Very happy overall.

My 3, almost 4-year-old daughter has attended Rotherly, full time, from the age of 10 months and absolutely loves it, as do I. As a parent, I get regular updates on what the children are up to, via an app, and the activities are always engaging and fun, often led by the interests of the kids. There is a good sense of community and the staff are all very friendly and approachable. Having had a son at another nursery where staff seemed to change each week I am very relieved by the consistency of the staff at Rotherly. My daughter is also ahead of my son at the same age in areas like writing and numeracy as Rotherly engage children in these subjects. The outdoor space is lovely and well utilised and I liked that, as a baby, my daughter got to nap outdoors. I feel happy dropping my daughter off each day knowing she is in safe hands and that she will be happy when I pick her up at the end of the day.

My eldest is graduating this week, having been there about 3 years, and the youngest 2 still attend.

The Rotherly team know each of my children and their personalities, how to manage them/engage with them, and how to get the best out of each of them.

The managers and team have been hugely accommodating eg. Weekly updates on my son’s progress (balance issues), reporting back to his doctor, and enabling a physio during opening hours to visit to help.

The boys talk about their key workers daily when they are not there, and often complain at pick up as they don’t want to come home!

I can not speak highly enough about Rotherly Nursery. My little girl has been going there for five months now, and she absolutely loves it. Happy to go in every morning and in such a good mood when we pick her up. The staff are absolutely lovely, and the nursery itself is purposely built and always clean. There is no better indicator of a good nursery than a happy child!

My son's been at Rotherly, The Westgate's Day Nursery for almost three years now. He loves it there and asks to go on weekends too! Staff are fantastic and genuinely love the children. He is looked after so well and is so happy there that it makes it much easier to go to work after drop-off. My eldest went to Rotherly from January 2019 to September 2021 and had a similar, super-happy experience.

Our first experience of Rotherly was two years ago when we moved our daughter there after she struggled in a larger, busier nursery. After just a couple of weeks it was like having a different (and much happier!) child. Staff are incredibly kind, caring and committed. They follow children’s interests and create a very warm and nurturing environment, whilst at the same time building children’s independence so they start school with confidence. Our youngest is now there and we feel very lucky to be part of such a lovely Rotherly family.

We were both shocked, and surprised, to read the recent Rotherly Nursery report. It certainly does not reflect our experiences and understanding of the environment we attend to collect our grandchildren. Rotherly Nursery is a warm, friendly and caring environment, where staff have used their patience and skills to positively encourage the development and confidence of our three grandsons. There are many and varied daily activities and opportunities, which are geared to provide for the children's needs and abilities, offering plenty of room for growth, development and experimentation. Rotherly staff work hard continuously to provided a safe, secure and comfortable experience for all the children in their care. I would not hesitate in recommending Rotherly Nursery to anyone thinking of sending their children there.

An outstanding nursery for children. It’s incredible watching my young nephews thrive in such a welcoming and safe environment. It is just like a second home for them. The staff are just incredible, friendly and professional and seem to really know their stuff. Seeing the children come home with such big smiles is just priceless. An absolute wonderful setting, I couldn’t ask for more for my nephews!
