At Kings Burrow Nursery, every child is supported to feel happy, safe and excited to learn each day. The team understands how important the early years are and works closely with families to give children the very best start.

The nursery is organised into three welcoming rooms - Leverets, Bunnies and Hares - each thoughtfully designed to support children at different stages of development through the nursery’s approach of Explore, Investigate and Challenge.

In Leverets, babies and youngest children explore the world through their senses. The focus is on building strong, secure bonds so children feel safe, loved and ready to discover.

In Bunnies, toddlers begin to investigate and try things out for themselves. Staff encourage curiosity, confidence and safe risk-taking as children learn how things work and grow in independence.

In Hares, preschool children are gently challenged to think for themselves, solve problems and develop the confidence and social skills they need for school and beyond.

Bright, engaging indoor spaces are complemented by exciting outdoor areas where children can run, climb, explore and connect with nature. The team believes that learning happens everywhere - especially outdoors.

Experienced and caring practitioners plan activities around children’s interests, helping to nurture a genuine love of learning. The nursery shares children’s special moments and progress through an online learning journal, recognising that strong partnerships with parents make a real difference.

Children enjoy freshly prepared, nutritious meals each day to support healthy growth and wellbeing.

Kings Burrow Nursery is proud to provide a nurturing environment where children feel secure, valued and confident - and where a lifelong love of learning begins.

Henry's is absolutely fab! My daughter absolutely loves it and as parents, we are big fans too. One massive plus for us is the amount of time they spend outside from running on the field, looking for bugs in the hedges, sledging down the frosty slope or climbing trees and having picnics in the wonderful
nature garden. The room staff are very caring and they have some creative ideas that keep the children entertained and the management staff are so welcoming and professional. We always get a daily handover from key workers that really do know what your child has been up to in the day. We have been involved with 4 nurseries in last 3 years and Henry's top the list in every way.

The plentiful outdoor space and seeing how comfortable our son was during our visit made choosing Henry's easy. It's been a great choice of nursery, with an excellent staff, and our son is very happy there.

Our daughter has been very happy since joining the nursery when she was 14 months old. She is now 28 months and talks fondly about nursery and looks forward to going.

Our child has been at Henry's for more than 2 and half years now and we've been delighted with the care she has received throughout. The staff are warm and welcoming and come up with loads of fun activities that really encourage the children's curiosity and imaginative play. Our daughter has grown in
confidence and developed lots of friendships. Her experience at Henry's means she'll be more than ready for school when the time comes, but we'll be very sad to leave Henry's!

I have two children at Henry's Kindergarten aged 7 months and 28 months. The standard of care is exceptional and both children absolutely love being there. The facilities are great and the staff are all friendly, professional and competent. I cannot recommend them highly enough and if you are thinking
about going back to work and leaving your child for the first time, I can assure you that the staff at Henry's will make this as easy as possible for you and your little one.
Reply from Lindsey Phillips-Jones, Nursery Manager at Kings Burrow NurseryWe are so happy that both your children have a great time at Henry's. Thank you very much for the amazing review.

Both of my children attend Henry's and we couldn't be happier with it. There is a very caring atmosphere and the staff seem to really enjoy their jobs and always make time for you even when they are really busy. The facilities are excellent - particularly the nature garden and the rooms are light and
airy. The children are outside playing as much as possible which I think is great.
My daughter is very sensitive and likes being at home so I was worried about her starting at nursery but she settled in very quickly and gets very excited about going - something I never thought would happen and is testament to the lovely environment there. I am always impressed by the activities they take part in - even my one year old brings paintings home that he's done!
Reply from Lindsey Phillips-Jones, Manager at Kings Burrow NurseryThank you for the lovely review. We are glad both of your children enjoy coming to Henrys and have settled in so well.

As a new mom with a 9-month-old, it was a huge relief to find a nursery which such attentive, responsible and caring staff. The management was especially understanding of my requests and accommodated my vegetarian options in their winter menu creation. My son is kept very busy with activities all day
and his development has been drastically impacted within a short time period. I really like the eyLog app as I can see photos and am given updates on learning my son achieves on a weekly basis, along with what he eats and drinks.

Areas of improvement would be the limited outdoor space and the nutritional content of the food (although it has improved since my son started). Overall, it is a great nursery and I have complete peace of mind leaving my child in their capable hands.

Reply from Lindsey Phillips-Jones, Nursery Manager at Kings Burrow NurseryThank you so much for the great review and feedback.

Within the grounds of the Nursery each of the three rooms has access to their own outside area along with our playground, nature garden and the use of the school field.

My daughter has gone to this nursery since she was 11 months old, she has always loved her time there. I have never worried about leaving her. She always does so many activities, spends lots of time outside and always has lots of fun. She's made lots of friends and I will be very sad when she leaves
there. Would and have always recommended this nursery to anyone.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.659)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.659) out of 10 for Kings Burrow Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.859 for Kings Burrow Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (122 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 142 Ratings = 4.859
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kings Burrow Nursery is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 number of registered child places is 9.4, which has been reached with 12 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
