Burstead Bears is an award-winning day nursery, having attained the 'Gold Award for Healthy Eating' and '5 Star Award of Excellence for Hygiene'.

The children benefit from the nursery’s most important resource - a high quality and high ratio team of skilled early years nursery practitioners.

The modern nursery offers a detached single storey dedicated baby unit with full under-floor heating and single storey main nursery with several age-appropriate rooms. The nursery has gas central heating and air conditioning throughout, a large enclosed play garden as well as a separate sensory garden.

There is a secure online viewing system for parents to view their child and to see the high quality care being administered. My daughter has the most amazing time at nursery, she is always so excited to be seeing her friends and also the staff that look after her friends and also the staff that look after her. She has made many special bonds with the staffs and this has helped her be comfortable in situations with new people.
My daughter has learnt so many skills be being part of this nursery, she can count comfortably, understands feelings, understands cultures and so much more at the age of 3! Amazing nursery!

Burstead Bears is a lovely nursery. The small rooms and high ratios mean I'm confident my children have the care and attention they need. My 4 year old grandson and 2 year old daughter could not be happier here. They have learnt so much from the staff that put a lot of time and effort into caring for the children. My grandchildren enjoy all of the activities at the nursery and they always learn from them too. The food they receive looks
and smells amazing and the staff encourage lots of healthy eating throughout the day.

My 2 year old little girl enjoys coming to nursery and asks when she is going to be going to nursery. When she first started my daughter had very limited speech and now that has changed, the girls have worked with her and know she is always chatting away. I would recommend this nursery 100% to anyone
that is looking for a nursery and the level of care is outstanding. Well done.

I have a 2 year old son who has been attending the nursery for about 7 months. I am very impressed with the level of care and attention for my child. The girls are amazing and my child looks forward to coming to nursery which puts my mind at rest as I know he will be safe and looked after.

All the staff at Burstead Bears are extremely professional and experienced and have fully supported my twin boys development from 9 months through to 2-5 years. Both my twin boys were premature and the youngest faced a few challenges in his early development. The nursery worked with us and outside agencies
to provide us, the parents, with regular detailed progress reports which we shared with the paediatricians to provide a balanced and unbiased insight into his development. Burstead Bears provide a safe environment where the boys are extremely happy which enables them to learn and develop while having fun. This provides us as working parents peace of mind that all the boys needs are fully catered for.

Rachael Robinson

Rachael, who has over 20 years of experience in childcare, joined Burstead Bears in September 2006 and helped establish the Nursery to the enviable reputation it enjoys today. Rachael has qualifications in both childcare and management and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery.

Paula Dann

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2011

Paula qualified as a nursery practitioner in 2006. Since this time Paula has progressed to be a most professional and skilled practitioner, who has achieved the equivalent to an NVQ Level 4. Due to Paula's vast experience, she has earned the respect of all her colleagues, which is due to her capacity to comprehend and respond to our children's needs with ease, she is also perceptive, supportive and patient with both children and colleagues alike.

Bethany is a bright, cheerful and outgoing character, who joined our nursery team because after completing a 2 week work experience at a nursery, she realised that it was a long term career in childcare that she wanted to pursue. Bethany enjoys creative art and in particular painting, which is put to good use with the children. Since becoming a member of Burstead Bears, Bethany has demonstrated excellent interaction skills, as well as a willingness to help others and a desire to progress in her role within the nursery to make a rounded member of the team.

Nicola Stephens

Nicola is a bright, enthusiastic and caring individual who has a wealth of experience working with early year’s children of all ages from new born babies to our pre-school children. Nicola started life at Burstead Bears in 2010 as one of our nursery practitioners with a true passion for working with young children. As time progressed she was promoted to a senior nursery practitioner, a role for which she is highly respected. Additionally, Nicola assists with various duties in the management of the nursery. Since joining the nursery Nicola has started her own family and now has a lovely son.

Keli Reed

Job Title: Senior Nursery Practitioner Joined: 2014

Keli has been working in the childcare sector since 1998, during which she has worked as a nanny for 10 years with children aged up to 16, and as a nursery practitioner with children from birth to age 5. Within Keli's role she has cared for many children of varying abilities including a 5 year period where she had great pleasure in caring for child with autism, who thanks to Keli's input is today learning, socialising, communicating developing really well. This makes Keli one of the nursery's most experienced and respected members of staff. After all the years Keli has worked in this sector, she still maintains the same passion in her role caring for children and helping them progress as she did when she first started. Keli's main pursuit outside of work is caring for her 3 horses as well as competing in various equestrian events, in which she has been most successful winning trophies for show jumping, cross country and dressage.

Jodie

Jodie Eldred

Jodie was initially inspired to work in childcare by her mother who had worked in the childcare sector for many years. Since joining Burstead Bears Jodie has displayed her passion of working with children by showing a great deal of empathy, warmth, understanding and enthusiasm whilst interacting in both play and education. This is evident as the children immediately warm to Jodie’s friendly and gentle persona. Jodie’s interests include: canoeing, sailing, reading and painting.
