Partou Silchester Manor Day Nursery & Pre-School has a well-earned reputation as the leading provider of childcare in the Maidenhead / Slough area, offering outstanding care to children aged 3 months to 5 years and are open from 7.30am to 6.00pm Monday - Friday, for 51 weeks of the year (closed during Christmas week).

Located on Bath Road, just outside Maidenhead, the nursery enjoys the benefits of a large character property with high ceilings, large airy rooms, and acres of outdoor garden and play space, which the children explore and thrive in.

There are separate rooms for babies, toddlers, 2-3 year olds, and Pre-School children, furnished with 'age appropriate' toys and resources, ensuring they provide the best standard of care, development and education. They also have a sensory room for children who benefit from quite time activities.

Silchester Manor operates a Key Person policy, ensuring that your child is cared for by a member of staff who gets to know you and your child really well.

Freshly prepared meals are cooked on site offering a special diet menu and catering from allergies.

Amazing space with a really good adventure garden.


The staff make this place. They are dedicated and keep the children as their focus. They are all wonderful.


I have been wowed by their efforts and can only thank them as our little boy loves nursery.


The manager is there first thing in the

morning and last thing in the evening. She is always responsive to parents and the children’s needs. Admirable dedication.

Brilliant nursery, very happy I have sent my daughter here. I feel she is in safe hands. She loves nursery especially the garden and always comes home saying she ‘played in the garden at nursery’ she has bonded with the staff and children, and on her days off at home she is usually asking for the staff
and the other children. Would definitely recommend.

Silchester Manor Day Nursery have again been fantastic in the care of my daughter; recognising she is now ready to move up to the older class, ingratiating her slowly into the older class so it’s not scary, coaxing and helping her along the way, and generally nurturing her so she feels very comfortable
with the transition. The nursery offers great outdoor space along with large playrooms that enable the children to explore and interact in a happy environment and I’m pleased to say, rooms that do not smell of soiled nappies, which for me was impressive as a lot of nurseries I had looked at beforehand did. The staff are very friendly and helpful, along with the management which makes the whole experience of dealing with the nursery a pleasure.

The staff are all very lovely. The manager is so helpful. The service provided here is by far the best we have received out of the three nurseries my son has previously attended. I was really wary of having to move him again but he really seems to enjoy it! Overall a nice environment with really nice
people.

We moved to the area and had to settle our daughter into Silchester Manor Day Nursery! The staff made the transition so much easier. They were so in tune to the worries that we had but they made us feel at ease. I'm so happy with how our daughter is settling in and we look forward to seeing her development
and progress in her time there. Two members of the team are particularly amazing!

We've had two daughters attend Silchester Manor Day Nursery since 2015. One has just left the preschool room for reception and the other is now joining the 2-3's room. When visiting, the facilities and open space is what struck us first and foremost. Since then, both girls have thrived under the care
of the staff and have been settled. At times the staff turnover has been worrying resulting in many familiar faces leaving all at once. However, my girls have warmed to their key workers who have built trust and confidence in them. Staff understanding of the children's individual characters and nature is clear to see and when presented with my daughter's Tapestry, the level of observation was outstanding - thank you!

When my daughter first started this nursery, I was worried how she would be but when I saw my daughter, she did improve day by day. It makes me happy and it makes my daughter happy and confident. The nursery has plenty of space, including a big garden which was why I chose the nursery. Both of my children have developed some good relationships with key workers and other staff and generally have fun. But it feels as if the nursery could do much more. The premises needs investment - the car park
is dangerously dark in winter; in the summer the pre-school room is unbearably hot. Staff turnover seems quite high and I feel that even though ratios are maintained, the kids are left to do their own thing, especially in the pre-school room. I think they would benefit by working more collaboratively with the parents. I would recommend aprons for painting and more school-like activities in preparation for pre-school.

When my son first started he wasn't the easiest, wouldn't eat, wouldn't listen. All the teachers in his class have my respect for the good change in him. He has learnt a lot and they are very helpful and understanding people.

Our daughter loves Silchester Manor. She is always so excited to come and see not just her friends, but the staff, who are so lovely also. She has learnt so much since starting in late January and we can see an evolution in her playtimes at home that she has learnt here.

Both my children have attended Silchester Manor and I couldn't have asked for more from a nursery. My son is now in school and my daughter attends pre-school at Silchester. The staff are the best around and brilliant with the children and families. Helping with education and fun as well as guiding with
concerns and worries.

I love the fact that this nursery is so spacious. The kids have a big indoor play area, outdoor area and separate sleeping space. Also, food is always varied and the key person to my daughter is very attentive to her needs. However, when she is not around, the hand over for my daughter's special requests
doesn't always seem to work.
Finally, I think that the building and interior can do with a little maintenance as it appears run down.

Just moved from Italy and we had the fortune to have Silchester Manor Day Nursery close to home. In this very hard moment for our family, the nursery staff took care and looked after my kids with skills and kindness.


Good staff and very nice director helped us. My kids now (after 4 months of preschool)

have more English skills and rules - good space and amazing garden. Fees in line with other nurseries.

My son has just started Silchester Manor Day Nursery. He has settled in very well and enjoys outdoor space. Food menu could be improved as well as price is at a high level compared to other nurseries.
