The Beaconsfield Day Nursery & Pre-School (Previously Kiddies Academy Day Nursery), aims to provide the foundations needed to give children the confidence to reach their full potential.

They firmly believe that in order to do this, their role as an early years’ provider is to facilitate and encourage independence through the philosophy of ‘opportunities without limits’, and continually being responsive to the inquisitive and instinctive needs of the children.

The nursery provides a range of age-appropriate activities which are carefully planned by qualified practitioners, introducing new experiences by encouraging the children to learn and discover through play. Part of this is building children’s social and cultural capital so that they develop a love of learning and confidence in their place in the world.

I love the variety of activities available at Kiddies Academy. My little boy seems to do something different each week. I especially like that they place particular emphasis on outdoor play.
My little boy loves playing outside and I love that he gets plenty of fresh air!
His speech and social skills
have come in leaps and bounds and Kiddies Academy definitely help with this.

I have two boys who have both been attending Kiddies Academy in Beaconsfield and they both enjoy it very much. Both of my children run into their rooms and are very happy to wave me off. The staff at Kiddies are both kind and professional. Activities are planned in advance and often coincide with special
events around the world and religions. I have particularly impressed with their Duwali celebrations and the Christmas concert. Thank you for your care and consideration of my two boys, Kiddies. Both boys have made progress and new friends with you.

Kiddies provides a welcome and 'real world' environment for my child as he prepares himself for big school. I am delighted that although he is cared for, encouraged and inspired, he is not cossetted or fussed over unnecessarily. The team actively encourage independence, and address discipline issues
with integrity and respect.


Previous nurseries that my other children attended have been most charming, but have been more likely to spend a long time detailing daily menus, or sending home charming artwork with limited child input, or creating detailed logs of every milestone and goal. I am quite certain that every piece of art my son brings home is his own creation. I do not need Kiddies to scrapbook his life for me.


I am very happy to know that he loves the staff, and they give every appearance of loving him.


The senior management team work extremely hard and are very committed to the kids.


My son loves it, and looks forward to going back every time.

Shankeetha Kanesalingam

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2024

My name is Shankeetha, and I joined The Beaconsfield Day Nursery and Preschool in July 2024 as Deputy Manager. In May 2025, I stepped into my current role as Nursery Manager. I have been working in childcare for over eight years, and during that time, I have gained a wide range of experience supporting children’s development across different early years settings. I hold a BA in Early Years Education, which has given me both the knowledge and the confidence to lead with a strong understanding of child development.


What I truly love about working in childcare is being part of each child’s learning journey — from their very first steps into nursery life to developing the independence and confidence they will carry with them into school and life.


Seeing children thrive, explore, and grow brings me so much joy, and it is incredibly rewarding to know that I play a part in those milestones.


One of the things I love most about my job is working alongside such a passionate and dedicated team, as well as building strong partnerships with families. Together, we ensure that every child feels valued and cared for. It is a real privilege to lead The Beaconsfield Day Nursery and Preschool. To me, what makes our nursery so special is the caring community we have built — one where children are truly at the heart of everything we do.
