Kiddies’ Cabin is a 63 place day nursery on the site of St Marks Hospital in Maidenhead. It has been established since 2006. Ofsted have rated the nursery as ‘Good’ since it opened, until the most recent inspection in August 2017.

Their last Environmental Health Inspection was in March 2018 and they received a 5 star rating.

Children are cared for by experienced and highly qualified staff who offer an interesting, educational environment full of experiences which allow the children to explore and grow.

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust owns and operates three nurseries in Berkshire which are open to everyone; parents do not need to work for the Trust in order for their children to attend.

Each nursery has stimulating outdoor play areas and children are encouraged to spend time outside developing their gross motor skills and having fun with their friends. Inside you will find warm, cosy environments which are perfect for children to take part in numerous, creative and entertaining activities.

The nursery offers the 30 hours funding and is registered to accept Tax Free Childcare payments.

  • The nursery is open to all families who wish to use the service.


    We have 3 options for attendance.


    •   Option 1 Combination of free* and paid hours for the 15 and 30 hours funding stretched over 51 weeks = 11 or 22 hours free per week with all other hours charged for, based on a 10-hour day. Minimum attendance of two days per week. A month’s deposit is required, and fees are charged monthly in arrears.


    •   Option 2 All hours are paid where children are not eligible to receive funding, based on a 10-hour day. Minimum attendance of two days per week. A month’s deposit is required, and fees are charged monthly in arrears.


    •   Option 3 Free hours only* for the 15 and 30 hours funding = 11 or 22 hours free per week for 51 weeks per year with no charge made for this attendance and no deposit payable.


    •   *For options 1 & 3, the times of the free hours are as specified below ONLY
    •   15 hours = 11 hours. 5.5 hours free on days one and two between the hours of 9.30am-3.00pm.
    •   30 hours = 22 hours. 7.5 hours free on days one and two between the hours of 9.00am-4.30pm and 7 hours free on day three between the hours of 9.00am-4.00pm.


    All attendance is over the 51 weeks that we are open. We do not offer term-time only places.


    There is a 9.5% discount for full time attendance of 5 days per week. A 9.5% sibling discount is offered against the eldest child's fees.

Fantastic nursery, great facilities and range of activities and the best staff. Both my children have been at the nursery from age one to leaving for school. The staff really know and care about the children, the approach is nurturing and fun and the kids learn so much without even realising it. I wouldn’t
hesitate to recommend it and feel sad that my son will be leaving soon! The nursery has given my kids a truly great start in the early years setting. Well done to the manager and the team!

I am very pleased with the provision and care that Kiddie's Cabin Day Nursery provide for my daughter. In particular, I think the settling in sessions that the nursery offer are excellent and really allow for your child to form a lovely bond with their keyworker before they start. I feel that every
member of staff knows and cares about my child. I also think Kiddie's Cabin excels at providing a community base for new parents through the coffee mornings and fetes that they run, which helps parents and children feel they are part of a community and benefit from the support that provides. The Outdoor space is excellent and my daughter comes out happy every day. The staff are excellent at communicating with parents and very approachable and I feel I am very well informed about my daughter's day. Thank you Kiddie's Cabin!

In my opinion, this is the best day nursery in Maidenhead. My son has been attending this nursery since he was 1 year old and soon he will be graduating to go to school. He has got the best care from all the staff and his key carers. He has learned and developed so many skills during his time there
and made a lot of good friends. Being a parent we got all our requirements fulfilled and we made new connections and friends. I definitely recommend this nursery.

Wonderful, amazing, helpful staff who work there from the admin team to the teachers. We were on the waiting list to begin with but the office team called every so often to check if we were still interested in a place, which was great because they didn't just forget about us.

My son started at Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery at aged nine months in November 2020. He settled in really well due to the care and attention provided and is really thriving there. The staff are really friendly, supportive and the facilities, in particular the garden are perfect for the children. The range

My son has really flourished since joining Kiddies’ Cabin Day Nursery earlier this year. His confidence with singing has improved so much and he regularly surprises me with new songs and rhymes he has learned at nursery. He is also more adventurous with climbing, jumping and swinging. He loves attending

Excellent facilities and members of staff. My little boy adores his key workers and looks forward to days at nursery. Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery made potty training a breeze for us as first time parents. We’re given lots of creative art work each week, this never happened in his previous nursery.The
staff have been really sensible the last thirteen months, making life just a little bit more like normal during the pandemic. Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery kept in touch over the national lockdown and provided activities when the nurseries couldn’t open. Would highly recommend.

I cannot recommend Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery enough. I find the staff to be so caring and that they are really committed to getting to know your child individually and helping them develop. The facilities that the children can enjoy are great and the outdoor space is amazing!

My son has attended Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery in Maidenhead for the last two years. I am so happy I chose this nursery for him as I cannot fault them in any way. Management are amazing and every single staff member shows so much care for each and every child. My son has progressed so much and found
his love of singing through the nursery! Throughout lockdown in 2020 we received regular emails from the nursery with activities to do and general updates on the nursery. This was so important for us as a family as we didn't want our son to think that he wasn't going back and these emails really helped. I would one hundred percent recommend Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery in Maidenhead to anyone.

We moved to Maidenhead from London in December 2020 and our children, daughter aged four and son aged two have been at Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery since then. The nursery has been so welcoming and supportive of our kids, especially during what has been a very difficult time through the winter lockdown.
They both settled in really quickly and have gone from strength to strength thanks to the care and kindness of all of the staff. They really enjoy their days at Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery and are always full of tales of all the fun things they have done. We are so grateful to all the team for looking after them so well.

After three years at Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery we couldn't be more grateful for the positive and nurturing environment that they have provided for our daughter. I am ever hopeful that as one daughter leaves for primary school, our other daughter will get a place and we will have a few more years to
enjoy it still. We have been through all four classes at Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery, having started when our daughter was one. The induction experience was second to none, she settled so easily with the offer of regular sessions in advance of her start date and by the time I started work I didn't need to worry about tears at drop off any more. We love the flexibility of staff to children's needs such as naps, the fresh air decking that she can access all day and the tailoring of activities to her age and ability, particularly noticeable in Bluebells and prepping her for school. We also love the offering of external activities such as music and dance classes and the relationships and fondness my daughter has developed for her carers in all classes. We just love it all!

Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds and talks with such excitement about her days at nursery. She comes home most nights with artwork or creations that the staff have put together for her and she really enjoys the dance classes that they put on. Covid-19 aside, the team are really good at putting
on regular events and encouraging parents to attend. We certainly miss being able to go inside and sign her in each day but it is testament to the staff how well settled all the children are being dropped off outside due to the circumstance and there are very few tears from any children. We love the addition of the whiteboard outside telling us what each class has been up to and find the thorough download of her day such as meals, activities and sleep very helpful. When we viewed other nurseries, many had apps with daily updates instead but after three years of experience we have come to value the conversations with her carers at end of day and love reviewing the photos in her learning journal.

We currently have our second child attending Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery on a full time basis. As with our first child, we are very happy with the care provided by all the staff at the nursery. In these strange and uncertain times they have given us reassurance and comfort and at no point have we felt
uncomfortable or unsafe leaving our child with them. Both of our children have enjoyed the nursery a lot and have made many good friends there, both children and adults. We can definitely recommend Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery.
