About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 51 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 7.5 funded hours per day, stretched across 51 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.4 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

Our son has been in Chiltern Nursery & Training College for three and a half years - we cannot fault the care he has received. We have had extra support from the SENCO and the team around our son have helped him to achieve goals we didn't think he would get to. Our son loves nursery so much that he asks to go at the weekend! Staff always go the extra mile and despite Covid they have continued to communicate well and share our child experiences with us. We will be sad when it is time for our son to move on from nursery.
The nursery space is always being developed and improved and I think the outside space really sets them apart from others.

We currently have one child at Chiltern, our elder child also attended until starting school last year. I cannot speak highly enough of Chiltern and the care they’ve provided our girls. Our eldest joined during the pandemic from another nursery after we relocated, and settled in smoothly with the care of the room staff. The nursery have been very diligent with measures during covid, always with the best interests of the children in mind which we have found very reassuring. My youngest started during lockdown so I was unable to go in with her, she was fine and the staff provided plenty of updates on how she was doing. Our daughter has thrived at Chiltern and loves going, running to the door when we say it’s time to go to nursery and “calling” the staff members when playing on a toy phone at home. The staff are consistent, hugely important, and show genuine care about the whole family, still asking my eldest how she is and how school is. I am so grateful our girls attend(ed) Chiltern.

I have worked with children and young people for over 30 years and have gained extensive experience through various roles within the childcare and education field. I started my career as a Nursery Nurse and my passion for working with a range of families in different environments took my career in many directions. I have always had a thirst for continuing professional development and have gained many qualifications throughout my journey. As the Head at Chiltern, I am responsible to a Board of Trustees for the overall running of CNTC along with developing and maintaining the highest possible standards of care, education, and training.

I have recently been appointed as the Nursery Manager, having previously been the Deputy Manager for the Under Two department since 2010. After qualifying as an Early Years Practitioner, I completed my BA (Hons) Early Years with The Open University in 2011 and went on to gain my Early Years Professional Status.
Through completing both these qualifications, I was able to extend my knowledge in all aspects of working with the under-fives. This enables me to strive for best practice, supporting and leading my team to achieve this; so the children who attend the nursery can have the best start to their nursery life, empowering them to go on and thrive to achieve their full potential, as they progress through the nursery in preparation for school. Alongside being the Nursey Manager, I am the nursery’s Special Educational Needs Coordinator and in the last year, I have gained the Level 3 Early Years SENCO Award with Reading Local Authority to support my role. I am looking forward to using the skills, experience, and knowledge I have in developing the practice at CNTC.

Since starting my career in childcare after finishing school, I have worked in many different roles. I started as a Nursery Assistant and soon found out I had a passion for childcare and working alongside the children, parents and staff.
After gaining my level 3 childcare qualification I decided to venture into the world of nannying before becoming a practitioner at Chiltern in 2017. I started here as a Room Leader and have had an opportunity to lead two rooms during my time here. My time as a Room Leader has enabled me to gain the knowledge and experience that I needed to reach the next step in my career. I am excited for the challenges ahead of me as I start my new role as Deputy Manager for the Under Two department.”

I have been fortunate to follow my passion and work in childcare for many years. I first came to Chiltern as a supply member of staff and enjoyed it so much that I stayed. I led an over two room before recently taking on the new challenge and role as a Deputy Manager.
I am passionate about providing a caring home from home environment full of experiences and activities which allow children to explore, supporting them to become curious confident learners.
