Our child started at Chiltern Nursery & Training College at the beginning of the year. We have so far been very impressed. He has settled in really well and all the staff have been very welcoming and have put us all at ease very quickly. Our son has seemed to have already built really strong bonds with his key worker and all the staff in his room. They are really approachable and always have time to discuss our son's day at pick-up.

He has also developed really well since starting and is now eating food independently and sleeping much better! He seems to love all the activities they set up.

I have two children at Chiltern Nursery & Training College and have always been so impressed with the care all children are given. The staff are absolutely wonderful and both of our children love going to nursery in the morning. Not only are the children looked after so well but they learn so much through effective learning through play. The children are all encouraged to try different foods through a varied menu and they are even taught about table manners through collaborative meal times with their peers and the staff. The children spend lots of time outside in the well-equipped grounds and outdoor activities vary from day to day. I cannot recommend the nursery enough.

Our daughter attends Chiltern Nursery & Training College on a full-time basis.

I have always found the staff to be caring considerate and professional. Our daughter loves spending time at nursery. She has built strong bonds with the staff. She has learned a number of skills at nursery which she uses at home. I always receive a brief from staff on her day when I pick her up. I am always assured and impressed with the energy and enthusiasm staff bring to work. I am grateful that our daughter had the opportunity to attend this nursery.

My 1.5-year-old has a good time in the nursery with the varied activities they do every day.

The staff and his key worker are amazing individuals. They have the child and his needs at the centre of all their plans. They are very approachable and easy to have a chat with.

We absolutely love Chiltern Nursery & Training College for our child who has been attending since they were 1. The staff are wonderful, caring and supportive and they spend time with you talking about your child, making sure you feel involved in their day-to-day development and activities. The outdoor facilities are excellent with large play areas and plenty to explore. The food is also exceptional; freshly made on-site and covers all of their nutritional needs, particularly with children who have allergies and intolerances. I feel reassured when I drop my child at Chiltern in the morning, knowing they are going to be looked after, encouraged and allowed to develop in their own way. Thank you to all the staff who make this such a special and engaging place.

Both my daughters attend(ed) Chiltern Nursery & Training College and from day one I have felt at ease. I made the decision to go back to work when they were 6 months so it wasn't easy handing them over so young but the staff are wonderful and, as a result, I have never looked back. The babies, toddlers and preschool activities are so well thought out and allow the children to remain children. In the last six to twelve months I have also seen much better communication and we now have regular events that the children can participate in which fit with the wider world (e.g. World Book Day, Children In Need etc.). The only negative is that the rules and regulations are very strict (e.g. there is no flexibility for swapping days on the ad hoc,0 even in extenuating circumstances). I would however add that this does not impact how happy my daughters are/were and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chiltern to friends and family.

Chiltern Nursery & Training College provides an excellent environment for our daughter to learn and develop.
The staff are very professional, friendly and communicative and we trust them with our daughter’s overall care and well-being.
The nursery is very communicative about all aspects of childcare and development.

We are glad that we made this choice for our daughter and feel that Chiltern is the best place for her continued growth and development as a toddler. In time, we believe it will also provide the best support for her transition to the school environment.

My daughter attended Chiltern Nursery & Training College and my other daughter and son currently attend the nursery. They have really thrived in the friendly and supportive environment that the staff create.

Although the nursery is large, the friendliness of the staff means there is a real family feel. Our children have always thoroughly enjoyed their time at nursery and are eager to go in the morning. There is a wide range of creative activities to challenge the children and the imagination of the staff means every day there is something new for them to explore and experience.

Both my sons have gone to Chiltern Nursery & Training College and they have both loved it. The staff are so friendly and know the children really well.
My youngest is still at Chiltern and literally cheers each morning "it’s a nursery day".
They both made really good friends.
The range of activities they get to do throughout the day is fantastic and no way could I offer the same at home.

It’s an excellent environment for them to grow up in. Thank you Chiltern!

Both of our children have been going full-time to this nursery and we had great experiences throughout the different rooms and teams of staff. The provision of activities have always been thoughtfully prepared to benefit children's development and creativity. I've been especially impressed with the professionalism of the different staff groups - from management, key persons to kitchen staff. Our boys had individual care plans developed to take care of their dietary and medical needs and it has been very reassuring that we have not experienced any mishaps throughout the years. Last but not least, the outdoor spaces are very generous and a clear advantage of this nursery. We will miss this place when our younger one goes to school.

Fantastic nursery, catering for my daughter's physical, mental, creative and emotional development and well-being. The staff are superb and really friendly and they have extensive knowledge and experience which impressed me a lot. The facilities are great and clean and there’s a lot of space with natural light. The garden facilities are outstanding with lots of space to run around, climb and play. I’m really happy with the place and also the people that make it so special and I am thrilled to see how much my daughter developed and changed since coming first to Chiltern Nursery & Training College.

Our child really enjoys going to nursery. The staff are caring, fun, kind, professional, enthusiastic and have lots of ideas for different activities for the children. There is a good amount of outdoor space to play in. There is a varied menu which is changed seasonally. It is great to see the photos and descriptions of what our child is doing that week via the app which the nursery uses. All in all, a brilliant nursery which has given our child a fantastic start!

Our child absolutely loves the nursery, the friends and the staff. They do plenty of activities/celebrations all year round. There is always something going on, even for the very young ones. There is a soft play area and the gardens are amazing and very well kept. The kids play frequently outside even in the early years. It is our child's happy place!

My daughter attended Chiltern Nursery & Training College and my son is currently attending the nursery. I cannot praise the nursery and particularly the staff enough. My son suffers from febrile convulsions when he has a high temperature and the entire team have provided fantastic support to us as a family. Following the first convulsion, the team put a detailed care plan in place and when he, unfortunately, had a convulsion during the day while at nursery they dealt with the situation in the most caring but also professional way. We know that our son is in the safest of hands and he is incredibly happy and loves going to nursery! He has a very special bond with all of the team and he is growing into a very sociable and confident little boy. It isn’t always easy sending your children to nursery but Chiltern Nursery & Training College make it much easier and the peace of mind knowing that our son is in the best possible place is priceless.

We joined the nursery in January 2022 in the under 2 room and my daughter had a great experience. However, the way the nursery handled the transition to the over 2 room was just amazing. It made her and more so me more comfortable especially as we had just welcomed our second baby in December so there was a lot of change happening. Both of her key workers couldn't do enough and it's been a great experience.

We have been with Chiltern Nursery & Training College for five years now, both of our children started from the baby rooms and the younger one is still in the over 2s. We have been very happy with the nursery, the staff are just incredible. Everyone we have met over the years has been so dedicated and professional, time and time again we have been blown over by their commitment and talent and positive attitude, they are always making sure children aren't just okay but really having fun and learning loads. Both of our children have made such strong connections with various staff members, they talk about them at home and are always happy to go in in the mornings. We could not recommend them highly enough, what an exceptional nursery!

I have regularly picked up my godson from Chiltern Nursery. I have been very impressed by the interaction the staff have with the children and the extensive activities that are organised by the staff. He has now been in the nursery for three and a half years. He thoroughly enjoys being at nursery, and the staff in his room get to know each individual child. The environment is friendly and homely, and they have extensive outside space, which is fully utilised.

Our son has been in Chiltern Nursery & Training College for three and a half years - we cannot fault the care he has received. We have had extra support from the SENCO and the team around our son have helped him to achieve goals we didn't think he would get to. Our son loves nursery so much that he asks to go at the weekend! Staff always go the extra mile and despite Covid they have continued to communicate well and share our child experiences with us. We will be sad when it is time for our son to move on from nursery.

I have worked with children and young people for over 30 years and have gained extensive experience through various roles within the childcare and education field. I started my career as a Nursery Nurse and my passion for working with a range of families in different environments took my career in many directions. I have always had a thirst for continuing professional development and have gained many qualifications throughout my journey. As the Head at Chiltern, I am responsible to a Board of Trustees for the overall running of CNTC along with developing and maintaining the highest possible standards of care, education, and training.

Victoria Hughes

I have recently been appointed as the Nursery Manager, having previously been the Deputy Manager for the Under Two department since 2010. After qualifying as an Early Years Practitioner, I completed my BA (Hons) Early Years with The Open University in 2011 and went on to gain my Early Years Professional Status.

Through completing both these qualifications, I was able to extend my knowledge in all aspects of working with the under-fives. This enables me to strive for best practice, supporting and leading my team to achieve this; so the children who attend the nursery can have the best start to their nursery life, empowering them to go on and thrive to achieve their full potential, as they progress through the nursery in preparation for school. Alongside being the Nursey Manager, I am the nursery’s Special Educational Needs Coordinator and in the last year, I have gained the Level 3 Early Years SENCO Award with Reading Local Authority to support my role. I am looking forward to using the skills, experience, and knowledge I have in developing the practice at CNTC.

Since starting my career in childcare after finishing school, I have worked in many different roles. I started as a Nursery Assistant and soon found out I had a passion for childcare and working alongside the children, parents and staff.

After gaining my level 3 childcare qualification I decided to venture into the world of nannying before becoming a practitioner at Chiltern in 2017. I started here as a Room Leader and have had an opportunity to lead two rooms during my time here. My time as a Room Leader has enabled me to gain the knowledge and experience that I needed to reach the next step in my career. I am excited for the challenges ahead of me as I start my new role as Deputy Manager for the Under Two department.”

Kerry Allen Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2023

I have been fortunate to follow my passion and work in childcare for many years. I first came to Chiltern as a supply member of staff and enjoyed it so much that I stayed. I led an over two room before recently taking on the new challenge and role as a Deputy Manager.

I am passionate about providing a caring home from home environment full of experiences and activities which allow children to explore, supporting them to become curious confident learners.
