Chiltern Nursery & Training College

We love Chiltern Nursery! The waitlist to get our daughter in was a bit daunting and we didn't know whether to perservere and wait to get her a place as the starting date we were offered was later than I was intending to go back to work from maternity but we are so glad we did wait! From the first meeting with her room leader we were very reassured, communication was great and the onboarding of our daughter's needs were really thorough so we felt confident they would work to help with her routine whilst she settled in. All the staff in her room are fantastic and we are now very familiar with them and the nursery routine. Our daughter loves nursery and seems to be settling in so well (3 months in). The outdoor facilities are fantastic and they spend so much time outside when the weather allows. The "parents evening" we had was really thorough looking at the development milestones too. Overall very happy with under 2's!

We are beyond impressed with Chiltern Nursery, they have all been amazing. The staff are kind, professional and knowledgeable. Even the smallest of asks is never any trouble. Its hard to express just how amazing this nursery is and we look forward to many more years here.

Fantastic team for the under 2's! Everyone is genuinely interested in supporting your child's learning journey and work with parents to do so. Communication is very clear and thorough, and handovers aren't rushed. A really lovely environment with a nurturing and caring ethos you can really feel. My son has really blossomed since starting here. Lovely outside spaces and plenty of time spent in them.

We can completely understand why there is such a huge waitlist for a place - it truly is an outstanding nursery. We cannot thank the team enough for everything they do and would highly recommend this nursery!!

Very happy with the care our little boy is receiving from the staff at chiltern. They have provided a smooth transition between home and nursery and have been particularly accommodating regarding his dietary requirements. Would highly recommend.

Everything you could want in a nursery - the best staff who genuinely care about each and every child, good rations, freshly cooked food, wonderful grounds and great management. My son will be leaving the nursery for school in September and we will be very sad the nursery stage has ended. He loves his time there. My older son also attended a number of years ago. It was good then, but it's excellent now. Victoria the manager seems to know all the children's names and goes above and beyond. All staff are welcoming and the activities on offer are incredible. Couldn't ask for more and very pleased we opted for Chiltern for both our children.

We are so happy with our experience at Chiltern and our 2 year old daughter is becoming more confident and sociable as a direct result of her time there. The staff are so dedicated and create such a happy and welcoming environment that is totally focussed on the developmental needs of the children. The facilities and outside space are amazing and help to create a fun environment for the children to thrive.

Our son recently started at Chiltern Nursery in one of the over 2s rooms and we have been so impressed with how they have helped him to settle in after our house move. All of the staff are really engaging with the children and are keen to help promote independence. We have definitely already noticed a difference in our son in terms of wanting to dress himself, collect cutlery and plates/bowls for meal times, and he is also able to self regulate quicker than before when he gets upset. The nursery staff keep us well informed of how he has been during the day, but also on his development and what they want to help him focus on. We have also been very grateful for the opportunity to discuss with the room leader and his key worker how the nursery is going to help him get ready for school and what we can do at home. I must also mention the admin staff who do an excellent job. The nursery itself has excellent facilities and a large outdoor space with lots of different activities.

Chiltern Nursery & Training College have been nothing short of brilliant. From the staff with their experience, knowledge and genuine care for my daughter, the team have gone above and beyond to support her needs and growth as a baby to toddler. I could not recommend their devotion and services to supporting both parents and children's needs.

I cannot fault Chiltern Nursery at all. The staff have been so incredibly welcoming and attentive, not just to my daughter but to myself and my husband as her parents. They provide brilliant care, education and comfort, and are so thorough with any updates. It's a beautiful environment with a huge garden to explore. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nursery in the Reading area.

We've had such a wonderful experience at Chiltern. The staff are incredible- so kind and caring and fully invested in your child's enjoyment and development. The garden space is absolutely brilliant in the warmer months and I am always amazed at the variety of activities and play provocations that the staff put on for the children. There is such a lovely atmosphere throughout the nursery and both myself and my partner have felt incredibly reassured that our little ones are in safe hands. Highly recommend!

Our daughter has just left Chiltern to begin school after 3 and a half years. Throughout her time at the nursery we have always felt comfortable and reassured by the whole team. The staff we have encountered have been incredibly caring and engaged with her development, and they have often gone the extra mile so support our family dynamic. She is sociable, confident and curious and we believe her positive nursery experience has played a big part in this. The outdoor space at Chiltern really sets the nursery apart from other options locally, as does its menu and ethos on fresh food. We have always enjoyed detailed updates / feedback via the app, at parents' evenings and during pick up chats. School transition information was pro-actively and comprehensively provided, and it has meant that all of us have been well placed to take this next step. We are hugely grateful to Chiltern and would highly recommend.

Both our son and daughter really enjoyed their time at Chiltern and made lots of friends. There were plenty of activities to keep them occupied and the staff made a real effort to provide learning opportunities, as well as keeping us updated regularly on their progress. Most importantly the staff seem to really care about the children and both of our children had a really good relationship with them. I would not hesitate to recommend Chiltern for this reason.

Excellent nursery, lovely staff doing a wonderful job with the children. Grounds are amazing, children just love to go in and have fun with their friends. Tailored approach to fit each individual child's needs. Great job on school readiness too. As parents, we are super grateful to all staff who took such a great care of our child.

Chiltern nursery has been incredible for both of my children and I can't speak highly enough of the facilities and staff. Both children have been given endless support and encouragement whilst also having the confidence and space for independence. Each room is filled with opportunities for playing and learning, which also filters through into the outdoor space. Chiltern has given them the best start imaginable and we're so grateful to all the staff for everything they do.

We couldn't be happier with this nursery. The outdoor setting is fantastic-spacious, stimulating, and perfect our active daughter. The staff are truly amazing: warm, attentive, and incredibly supportive of each child's development, our daughter loves every staff member. We've seen real progress in our child's confidence, communication, and social skills. What really stands out is the consistent, detailed feedback we receive, keeping us informed and involved every step of the way. The whole environment is friendly, welcoming, and feels like a second home! Thank you!

A wonderful experience with this nursery. The gardens are very large and there is a focus on outdoor time which is lovely. My daughter took several months to settle as she is shy and doesn't like new situations/ people but the staff have been so patient and proactive in trying to find ways to make her feel more comfortable, and she now loves it there. Almost every day she seems to have learnt a new skill or word new there. The menu seems to be more varied and nutritious than other nurseries we looked at.

Great nursery with amazing staff and fantastic garden. Our daughter is delighted to go on her nursery days and comes home happy and ready for a rest after having so much fun. Staff are always helpful and keep us well informed of how our daughter is doing.

Our son has attended Chiltern since March 2023, so have experienced both Under 2s and Over 2s now. We've been very happy with our choice, the fact that it's a large nursery and training college is great as it benefits from economies of scale: multiple huge playgrounds, fresh meals cooked on-site, plenty of staff whenever carers get sick, a rotation of recently trained carers with the most up to date training, even their own soft play centre! We've found it great value for money as we don't need to supply our own nappies, and there is a SENDCo who has worked with our son very closely to accommodate for his needs. Thank you Chiltern!
