Kindred Shortlands Nursery and Pre-school

The team at Shortlands are fantastic. My son is in the pre-school section and he is well looked after and supported by the staff around him. He lists them all as his "favourites" and looks forward to attending each day.

He really enjoys the different activities, particularly the sport on Wednesday and dancing on Fridays!

The staff are amazing and really love the children. Our child looks forward to going to nursery everyday .

The staff regularly keep us up-to-date with what's happening throughout the day.

The food is also incredible!

I bring my granddaughter to Kindred 3 mornings a weeks she's always happy to go in which makes taking her there a pleasure. She is very fond of all of the teachers and has come on in leaps and bounds since starting there. Never having had a child or grandchild at nursery from such a young age before I have been astounded by how sociable and confident she has become. The teachers all take time at the beginning of the day to find out how the child has been and again at the end of the session to let you know how they've been with them, making you feel like your child is their absolute priority. My Granddaughter loves it there and that is a good enough review for me!

My daughter joined a couple of weeks ago and I cannot fault her care. She has made great relationships with the staff in her room already and has settled so well thanks to them being so lovely to her. I receive regular updates throughout the day which is also makes me feel at ease and have a full update on hand over too. All staff are incredibly friendly and approachable too.

Our son attended Kindred Shortlands the last 9 months. Seeing the warmth of the staff towards the children helped settle our early nerves. Every morning we dropped him off knowing that he will be taken good care of and it gives us immense joy to see how far he has come. He joined as a shy toddler and graduated as a confident pre-schooler. We would definitely recommend Kindred to any parents looking for a safe and loving nursery to leave their little ones in.

Kindred is a brilliant nursery, the staff are really caring and kind. My daughter is very happy coming to nursery and enjoys eating the food. The nursery is very clean and they have very good learning recourses for the children.

Very caring nursery, good facilities and really nice outdoor space. My child always seems happy with his day when he gets home. They are creative with the activities they do and encourage free play also so has a nice balance with some structure.

If I had to give an improvement point, I would say that the updates from the week could be better, sometimes there are a couple of weeks where we do not receive any written feedback or photos to show what the children have been doing. It would be good to receive something weekly, and even better something daily but I know that may be harder. There is an app that is updates so we can see when fed, slept and eaten, but would love to hear and see a bit more.

My daughter started at Kindred Shortlands almost 12 months ago and we're extremely pleased with our choice. The best I can describe them as, is an extension of our family; I feel they care and look after her as if she was a child of their own, taking an interest in her and her interests. They're flexible and pragmatic too, which is helpful given we're both in full time work and have no family nearby. She loves going and has been really settled there. We love the updates and can really see she is thriving. Thank you to the manager and team!

We've had a great experience with Kindred Shortlands. Our daughter loves it there and the staff are very caring. I feel completely secure that she is in safe hands every day. They do lots of activities with the children such as baking and crafts. Communication is always good too, with any queries answered swiftly.

I just wanted to share my thoughts on my son's nursery. Overall, everything has been great! The staff is caring, and the environment is nurturing. My son loves going there every day. However, I think it would be beneficial if they could dedicate a bit more time to teaching the kids new skills and concepts. That said, I'm really happy with his experience so far!

In terms of the setup, the place is spacious and full of character with great facilities for each room. The food is delicious and freshly made on-site. I can wholeheartedly recommend Kindred Shorthands to other parents.

My daughter is in babies and the staff are excellent. She loves going to nursery every day and has really developed into a chatty little independent girl. Her confidence has really grown and the staff in Babies are so kind and nurturing. I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough.

A great nursery with kind, caring staff. Our little girl has been going for a year and she absolutely loves it! They have a lovely outdoor space, they do a variety of fun activities and the freshly cooked food is a real treat! Highly recommended.

I’ve got my two boys at Kindred Shortlands including an 8-month-old baby and we all love it. They both settled straightaway, even when my eldest changed nursery at 2.5 years old because of our house move. The staff makes all the difference, everyone is so lovely and caring. I can’t recommend them enough.

My daughter has been here for a year now and still loves her Tuesdays and Thursdays there. As a mum, I am still super happy with the care and support given to my daughter. All of the amazing staff, lovely food and brilliant activities make me happy and so confident and comfortable that my daughter is getting the best in her early years.

Over the years we have experienced different nursery settings for our children. We’ve learnt a lot as to what is really important and Kindred Shortlands has it. It’s about having long-term, caring, invested and talented staff that care for your children wholeheartedly. Our daughter is progressing so well socially, and educationally, with kind manners and great relationships. The variety and creativity that is offered by the staff also contribute to her development.

Our little one has attended Sunnyfields for well over two years and loves going every day. The staff are all really kind and clearly care a lot for the children. The staff are really helpful and go out of their way to accommodate additional requests. We will be sad to leave when it’s time for school in September.

I was anxious about returning to work as we had faced difficulties with my child using a bottle, but the nursery was great in supporting us with the transition and providing timely updates. My child has flourished, and there are noticeable developments and changes. The team will work with us to work on areas where we've been struggling.
