In early 2023, Kindred took over this nursery, after the transition they hired a new nursery manager to manage and lead the nursery, working together with a long-serving staff member (deputy manager who everyone loves). Their dedication to making sure the children have a safe and friendly environment,
whilst adjusting and aligning to new ownership values and ways is admirable. The staff in the preschool room are amazing at helping the children learn and gain their trust in a fun environment. Three other staff members are great at ensuring babies and toddlers have an organised calmness, working together across rooms to suit the children's needs. This is so important at such a developmental age for our children. Through the teamwork illustrated in recent months, the ladies are really building out a fun safe environment for the children to thrive at such an impressionable stage in their lives. Well done ladies.

Transitions can be a tricky time, so we really do appreciate your understanding of everything we've put into place to ensure that our little ones are at the forefront of our actions and that they come first. We love what we do and as a Kindred family, it's our mission to help our little ones to grow and thrive, whilst they are with us in their home from home. My son, who is two, has attended since he was seven months old.
I really like Sunnyfields. It was the most homely and welcoming of all the settings we looked at.
The permanent staff are wonderful. He has formed strong bonds with his room carers. The site managers are a pleasure to deal with.
The
menu, especially lunch (the main meal), is varied and reasonably healthy.
I appreciate the effort that goes into the “extras” Sunnyfields provides - highlights being the parents’ Cluedo night and summer fun days. One of the staff built the wooden garden train with her dad - an example of the commitment that goes into making it such a lovely place.
There have been issues with staff retention and central comms, particularly around the takeover, but the former is, I think, just reflective of the state of the childcare industry, and the latter will hopefully improve with time. What really matters is I am very happy to leave my son here. He is learning and having fun.

Your children are the most important thing to you, and you as a parent need to feel happy when you leave them in our care that they are safe, happy and having fun. We endeavour to be that home-from-home environment where your son can come and be part of our family. Within this, he can develop and learn through play creating moments of awe and wonder whilst growing and thriving. You are correct that, unfortunately, there is an industry shortage of key worker practitioners, and we do all we can to ensure our staff are happy and cared for and want to stay doing the amazing job they do; however, for some, it is time to move on. Good communication is key, and we will strive to ensure this is built on and the level is as high as it is in our other Kindred nurseries.

I am pleased with the nursery; they are caring and organised and provide a safe and interesting environment for children with a holistic approach to childcare.
My son, age 3, enjoys his time there and has grown in confidence, and I feel reassured he is looked after very well.

Really good. Staff polite. Great playground. Good size rooms for the children. No complaints. Staff have been very informative in telling me, as a father, how my child has been doing in the nursery and also building confidence and learning skills.

My daughter has attended Sunnyfield Day Nursery Orpington since she was one. We love the nursery and all the staff there. They have provided amazing care for my daughter and we are extremely proud of her development. She leaves this year to go to school and has all the knowledge and basic skills, such
as name writing ready for her to start, all thanks to nursery. Thank you again all at Sunnyfield Day Nursery Orpington for taking great care of our daughter.
