Playhouse is a really wonderful, family run and orientated nursery. They have provided truly loving and considerate care for our little boy, thanks to their dedicated and loving teaching staff and management team. Playhouse has a genuine "home away from home" feel which really sets them apart from other nursery care providers, but they are also professional, well organised and very much go the extra mile to ensure the children are happy, fulfilled and that they flourish developmentally. The nursery is well equipped with ample outdoor facilities and Montessori activities, regular updates are provided throughout the day (albeit their focus on face to face communication is something which is a great asset and makes for much more meaningful relationship building) and they also make the most of the local surroundings with park trips and occasional excursions. We would highly recommend Playhouse and thank them for their really wonderful care.

Plus, the staff looked like they absolutely loved what they were doing, which made it a breeze for our daughter to settle in. She loved every single moment she was there. All in all, top-notch!

I have had a genuinely great experience with this nursery, and I feel very confident recommending it to other parents. All three of my children have attended, and each of them has enjoyed their time there very much. As a parent, there is nothing more reassuring than seeing your children happy, settled, and excited to go into nursery each day - and that has consistently been our experience throughout the years. From the very beginning, the settling-in process was handled with care and sensitivity. The staff took the time to get to know each of my children individually, which made the transition from home to nursery much smoother. It was clear early on that the team understands how important those first few weeks are for both children and parents. Their warm and welcoming approach helped build trust quickly, and that positive relationship has continued ever since.
One of the things that has stood out most to me is how bright and well-mannered the children are.

We've had such a positive experience with Playhouse Montessori Nursery, and I can't recommend them highly enough. From the very beginning, the staff have been incredibly supportive, especially in helping us access additional support for my daughter, who is autistic. Their understanding, patience, and proactive approach have made a huge difference to us as a family.
The team consistently keeps us updated on her development, which is so reassuring. They take the time to share progress, celebrate achievements, and discuss any areas where extra support might help. It really feels like they are invested in her wellbeing and growth.
Our daughter previously attended another local nursery where, unfortunately, we didn't receive the level of support we needed. Moving to this nursery has been a breath of fresh air. The difference in communication, care, and genuine support is remarkable.
We're so grateful to have found such a nurturing and attentive environment for our child.

As a grandparent, I am appalled by what happened at this nursery. My grandson was given a known, documented allergy clearly communicated verbally, in writing and electronically. He became unwell and required medical advice. I was on the phone to my daughter while she was in distress and requested a FaceTime call because I was not near the nursery and needed to see his physical condition for myself, particularly as emergency services had not been called. After my daughter raised a safeguarding concern, both of my grandsons' places were terminated despite no prior complaints. The timing is deeply troubling. Ofsted has since identified failures in allergy management and leadership oversight. The nursery also refused to provide public liability insurance details when requested.
Parents should read the latest Ofsted report and think carefully before enrolling their children here.

PUBLIC WARNING: I would not recommend this nursery, particularly for children with allergies or medical needs. Despite my son having a known, documented allergy that I had communicated verbally, in writing, & on their app, he was still given a very serious allergen, as a result my son became unwell, and required medical advice. Allergy records were not updated in ANY classrooms & not all staff were allergy trained, demonstrating poor management and unsafe practice. Instead of taking responsibility, the nursery TERMINATED both of my children's places because of their mistake at very short notice after I raised safeguarding concerns, which felt retaliatory and left me without childcare. This caused significant distress to my children and serious disruption to my work. This matter has been formally reported to Ofsted and other governing bodies. Parents should think VERY VERY carefully before entrusting their children to this setting.

The nursery has put additional measures in place to further strengthen our systems, staff training, and procedures to ensure robust practice across all rooms. We want to reassure families that children in our care are safe, supported, and closely monitored at all times. Due to confidentiality and data protection, we are unable to discuss individual circumstances publicly. However, we strongly refute any suggestion that concerns raised by parents are not listened to or that children are treated unfairly for speaking up.

The teachers are wonderful - attentive, patient, and genuinely devoted to the children. This is a place where children are not only taught, but truly loved.

I do not know where to begin with how amazing this nursery is. It is so well managed by the leadership team and all staff members. The communication between nursery and parents is fantastic. My son has been going to this nursery for two years now and his communication and confidence has grown significantly by the support of all the staff at Playhouse Montessori. My son had very limited vocabulary when he first began and is now thriving. I was also struggling with potty training and staff members took it upon themselves to help me and he's now fully trained. The management are so incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. I honestly do not know how I would've coped these last few years if I had not found such a wonderful nursery. I highly recommend if you're looking for well trained staff and a fantastic environment for your child to grow. Safeguarding is also a high priority which I immensely appreciate.

I have been a proud member of the Playhouse Montessori team for over 20 years and currently work as the Deputy Manager. During this time, I have had the privilege of supporting many children and families throughout their early years and watching them grow in confidence, independence and ability.
I am a qualified Early Years Professional (EYP) and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), with extensive experience in early years education, safeguarding, child development and supporting the individual needs of children.
I am passionate about creating a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child feels happy, safe and valued. I strongly believe that children thrive when nursery feels like a home away from home, and building positive, trusting relationships with both children and their families is at the heart of my approach.
As Deputy Manager, I work closely with our staff team to maintain high standards of care and education throughout the nursery, while supporting practitioners in delivering engaging learning experiences that enable every child to reach their full potential.
After more than 20 years at Playhouse, I remain just as passionate about early years education and take great pride in being part of the Playhouse family.
