Cumnor House School Nursery, South Croydon

Our experience with Cumnor House School has been wonderful. Both our children transitioned through the nursery at South Croydon and we have been very impressed with the care and support they received from the all the teachers. They have not only nurtured my son but have taught him life long skills.

We sent both our children to Cumnor House South Croydon and our youngest has been attending pre-school since September. We could not rate the nursery highly enough. The staff are dedicated, patient and I have seen positive changes in my son since the beginning of the year. I genuinely feel that the staff care about the well-being of my child and the turnover has been very low which is always very encouraging.

Our son has recently started at this nursery, and they have been wonderful with communication and helping settle him in. Although it has only been a short period so far, our son is eating the most amazing nutritious meals and enjoying them! He is having a great time with other children, interacting and the facilities have been great. I cannot fault the staff, the office staff, the facilities or the communication.

After viewing a number of nursery settings, we just knew Cumnor House Nursery, South Croydon was the right setting for our son. Staff were friendly and experienced and the setting provided lots of opportunities for learning through play. Our son, who was very attached, settled in quickly and he was even excited to go to nursery! This continued throughout preschool and we could really see the progress our son made by having a qualified teacher at this stage. He loved the structure and range of learning opportunities from forest school to music and PE. I couldn't rate the setting highly enough!

My son joined the pre-school in September. The staff are amazing and the education is fantastic. The progress I have seen in one term is outstanding. I only wish we had moved him sooner. I have seen an improvement in his speech and language and communication since joining. The specialist lessons - music, PE and Spanish are outstanding. This is shown in their productions. I watched my son in the Nativity on Monday and the singing and dancing was fantastic. The children have so much confidence and this comes from the amazing and qualified team they have at Cumnor House. Again wish I had made the move at 2!

My youngest attends nursery here during the holidays and loves it. The staff are experienced and take care to remember him and all his nuances (!) especially with allergies. He enjoys the routines and the activities. The setting is lovely as they are in the perimeter of school playing fields and so it’s very green. There is a private lane which makes it feel safe.

Our son has been in the nursery since last November and we couldn’t be happier. Everything is excellent. Ethos, atmosphere, setting etc. All brilliant but most importantly the ladies who run his room as just wonderful. It’s a lovely place to be both a pupil and a parent.

We are very happy to entrust our two children to the Cumnor House School Nursery. During the challenging times the staff did everything to ensure that the children were well looked after and engaged. Both our children love going to the nursery and having fun with their friends. Many thanks to the teachers for their dedication and hard work!

Extremely likely to recommend this nursery to friends and family as settling in was very quick and the teachers are excellent. Nursery is located next to the sports fields so the surroundings are very green.

Very happy with the support the Nursery staff have provided my son. All staff at this nursery have supported my son with his speech therapy and we are very grateful for their feedback and planning towards supporting my son.

We are so happy with our son's experience at Cumnor House Nursery. It is has a calm and nurturing atmosphere with real care taken over each child's emotional and academic development. The facilities are fantastic, as are the opportunities (P.E., Spanish, yoga etc.) given to the children.

The teachers here are very focused on giving the kids the best possible headstart to their schooling by giving them a huge variety of activities from weekly music lessons, weekly PE and yoga to storytime from the headmaster.

The nursery readily makes the term's topics available for all the parents and the children are immersed in the topics through activities that seem like play but is teaching them all the skills they will need to enter school.

They take great care of all the children both academically and personally. Each one treated as an individual and a personal plan for each of them is created to concentrate on the areas they need more help in.

I cannot fault this nursery in the slightest, it has been wonderful to see my children grow so much under the care of the teachers here and to see their relationship between them and the teachers is truly wonderful.

The staff are very attentive and are able to give specific feedback regarding my son even quoting things he has said. I am extremely happy with Cumnor House nursery and have enjoyed watching my son grow in confidence.

Our daughter is very happy at Cumnor House Nursery. She’s become more confident since starting here and has built up strong relationships with other children and staff.

My daughter is very happy in this nursery and loves you both. I would recommend this nursery. Standards are very high and I love the way they teach through play.

Both my sons are attending this nursery at the moment. They are not particularly outgoing characters but they were able to settle in very quickly and have been very happy ever since, which shows the competence and effort of nursery staff. Particularly my son’s key worker, who has been particularly instrumental in helping my son to become more confident and social. Even though I slightly disagree with some of the policies and management, these do not overshadow even a bit of the overall outstanding performance of the nursery.

2. I recommend to open the windows in Willows room more often even in winter. The air is not fresh after a day in winter.
