Overall Experience

The staff have been fantastic and are always so helpful and friendly. My child loves going in every day and it is great to see her so happy in there. She has learned loads from the staff. I would highly recommend them. They really take care of the kids and it’s not just a job for them.

I am absolutely delighted with all staff at Maythorne Cottages, communication is great, The managers and all other staff (I haven't got names of) are very welcoming. I was so nervous about my daughter going to nursery. They have made the transition amazing. My daughter absolutely loves going there. Keep up the great work!

Overall Experience

Very friendly and cooperative staff. They are ready to support with additional needs. My son settled well in the setting. They are giving feedback at the end of the day and never rush whilst saying bye. Truly worthy!

My almost 4-year-old has attended the nursery for over 2 years, and I am extremely happy with the care that is provided. She has experienced three different rooms, as she progressed in age, and in each the care and attention were outstanding and I always felt really happy with how she was being looked after.
Now that she is in the pre-school room, there is an excellent focus on fun learning activities, and her writing is really progressing and most importantly she finds it fun. The carers incorporate really fun activities into each day as they learn about space, parts of the body, the senses etc. and I love hearing stories about fun activities from each day. The arts and crafts activities are also excellent, and the carers have recently gone the extra mile in tailoring these to my daughter's particular interests.

The nursery communications and management have been excellent recently - I feel very well informed as a parent and would not hesitate in recommending the nursery.

I really like Maythorne Cottages. My daughter came across from another nursery and continues to flourish! We noticed things like her use of ‘Yea’ changed to ‘Yes’ quite quickly after she started and her language seemed to progress even further after a few weeks. The staff are lovely and are very caring and management do a wonderful job of getting to know all the children and parents. Communication between the nursery and parents is also great given the current Pandemic. I’ve had several phone calls about how my daughter is getting on with her key worker and from management. They’ve also been very supportive with our recent potty training and nap dropping!

I think they're doing a fantastic job given the challenges they're under.

Melissa Job Title:Nursery ManagerJoined: 2021
I have worked in childcare for 11 years and have grown and developed from a nursery practitioner to nursery manager.

I have gained a lot of experience throughout my childcare journey working at various different childcare settings.

I want to develop a real sense of community at my nursery and help children learn and grow in confidence through the opportunities we provide for them.

As a mother myself to two boys who keep me on my feet.

It’s rewarding to see how early years education and experiences offered impact on a child’s brain development for the future.

I intend to create a nursery where children are given opportunities of learning they don’t have at home and create secure attachments with their key workers.
