Great nursery all round. My little boy started when he was 2 years, he absolutely loves it and enjoy all the different activities. The staff is friendly and nothing is ever too much. Staff always welcome parents and their children with a lovely smile.

My son attended from October 2018 to September 2020. He settled in very quickly and built positive relationships with the staff and other children. He enthusiastically went along early in the morning and developed a good routine. He ate well and staff always gave me good detailed feedback at the end
of the day. He was always engaged in activities and it was great to be able to get news during the day via the famly app. The nursery are very accommodating, helpful and flexible and really has a great personal touch. My son had a very positive experience at the nursery and I fully recommend it to others.

A lovely small nursery, we have been very happy sending our daughter here. The staff are extremely friendly and professional and take a keen interest in her development. The nursery, being small, makes us feel like everything is very personal and all the staff know our daughter well.
Communication
between staff and parents is excellent with lots of updates on the nursery app throughout the week. Throughout COVID we have also been very reassured with the safety protocols that have been put in place.
The outdoor space at the nursery is rather small but we feel they have made the best use of it and put on a varied range of activities for children throughout the week.

Over the past couple of months during the crisis the manager has been working very hard in the nursery by decorating, putting new furniture, toys for the children to play with and also she has been keeping the kids engaged by sending emails of activities to do with our children at home.

Although the old manager was lovely, since the new manager started in January we have seen some really exciting changes.
My only comment would be that the selection of food they eat seems very repetitive.
Staff are all friendly, although sometimes they don’t really interact with parents during handover.

My child was at this nursery for over one year. He settled then unsettled, this continues due to staff turn over and change. The nursery never had parents evening to give parents a progress report. I never saw a baseline of my child’s development. Some staff came across lovely, however never lasted.
Routines didn’t seem to be daily eg., cereal times etc. Overall I had a bad experience at this nursery, the changes have been happening since we first started back in 2017 and still not satisfactory.

I feel that my experience at this nursery has been exceptional. It is a kind and friendly environment that my son really enjoys. My son loves coming to nursery and gets on well with all the staff. He is more of a confident boy. When he comes home he is always happy and tells me about the day he has
had.

Though small and with limited garden space and facilities, I immediately got a good vibe from the friendly staff and happy children. My daughter loves nursery and adores her keyworker. She skips off happily at drop-off and is sometimes reluctant to leave at pick-up! She is chatty and sociable and comes
home with new words and songs all the time. I feel she is in a great, loving environment, which is all she needs at her age.

My son loves coming to nursery and all the different activities set up for the day by the staff. He is very happy to be left with all the staff (although has strong relationships with a certain few!).
Only thing I would like to change is a bigger outside space and trips to the local park for more open
space, activities.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.818)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.818) out of 10 for Tenderlinks Day Nursery - Streatham is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.917 for Tenderlinks Day Nursery - Streatham is calculated as follows: ( (44 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.917
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.901 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tenderlinks Day Nursery - Streatham is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 number of registered child places is 7.6. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.6 = 0.526
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2021

Hi, I’m Sonia and I am the manager at Tenderlinks Day Nursery in Streatham. I have been the manager since March 2021.

Watching a child grow and reach their potential is one of life’s greatest pleasures and knowing that I get to experience this every day gives me a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment.
With a background from Portugal, we have a strong family ethos, this always gave me opportunities to be around children and I guess in a way it was the beginning of my path into childcare.
I have been in the industry for over 19 years, working my way through various age groups and ranks, this gave me the opportunity to gaining experience, knowledge and obtain my qualifications along the way.

I started my career early in 2003 in a small setting in London, I then moved on to bigger settings where I was fortunate to be able to develop my knowledge through education. I began by gaining relevant qualifications which included my NVQ’s in childcare as well as being able to go to university where I was awarded my BA Hons degree in teaching and learning.

To be given the opportunity of becoming Tenderlinks manager is a pleasure, alongside my team we aim to provide a secure and stimulating environment, with the feal of a home from home. We follow the children’s interests and feed their curious minds through various approaches. We aim to give them the best start to their development as well as their learning journey.

I’ve been working with children over the past 10 years. I am a qualified level 2 and I've been working with children aged 3-5 years and 2-3 years old. I am very bubbling and caring. I am a creative person and enjoy messy playing with children to support social and emotional development. I believe that every child should be treated equally and given all the support they need using the curriculum guidelines laid down in the statutory early years’ foundation.
