The children make multiple outings a week and are very engaged in the local community. The themes and activities are so engaging and carefully planned to work with the children’s skills and interests.
The staff seem to have been there for a long time which is so different to the high turnover in lots of nurseries.
She looks forward to going to nursery every single day and misses it a lot during holiday periods.
The environment is small, kind and warm, and gently allows the children to grow in confidence and develop meaningful relationships with peers.
Teachers are extremely experienced and creative.
Also one of the few community-based places left in the area. Has been ongoing for years and has accompanied the growth of a lot of local children (some of them are actually the parents of a few children attending these days!).
Highly recommended!
This is a very nurturing nursery, with small classes, and an emphasis on art, music, yoga and meditation. There is a lot of outside time and reading built into the curriculum. We are really happy here.
Our son’s been attending Sunrise now since last September 2022 at 10 months old. He’s so confident and settled. The staff are wonderful, the activities are endlessly imaginative & fun. There is a great community feel and thank you for welcoming us to the Sunrise family. We feel very lucky to have also met some of the other wonderful parents. Big thanks to the whole team. This is a hidden gem in the heart of Stoke Newington and I 100% recommend it.
Our child has been happily enrolled at Sunrise since the age of 18 months old (now 3) after his first (a nearby Montessori nursery) closed. We were devastated to lose his connections but we were so happy with our first impression of Sunrise that we felt confident with the move and many of the children moved with us. Sunrise staff have a warm and gentle approach and they work extremely hard to meet the needs of each child, foster their learning and strengthen their relationships. We feel that they use kind language and allow the children agency within their day but also provide an array of excellent activities. We really enjoy that they take them out every day and were very reassuring in regards to safety. There is a cute nursery cat who the children adore, an outside enclosed climbing frame & small class sizes. My son is very happy here. They couldn’t show more care or interest in him as an individual and as a freelance parent, they have been flexible & accommodating. Recent good Ofsted too.
This nursery is wonderful in every sense of the word. It’s a clean, healthy and loving environment. My daughter benefited from the Montessori teaching and the attention to detail in terms of the encouragement of hand-eye coordination. The approach to education is child-led and very nurturing. I love it that every day starts with yoga, singing and meditation. The food is vegan and delicious. The snacks are healthy. We were very sad that my daughter had to leave to go to school. Thank you to all the staff. We miss you!
Thank you so much, Michelle. It was a pleasure to know you.
A warm and caring nursery, the classes are small which gives it a family feel. Staff know my son so well, he wants to stay at the end of the day. Food - freshly cooked vegetarian meals cooked daily on-site.
