Greenwood Nursery is located in the leafy area of Wandsworth, right beside King George's Park. The nursery caters for children aged between 18 months and 5 years for full and sessional day care between 7:30am and 6pm.

The site includes a fully enclosed playground and garden as well as a unique onsite Forest School that can take up to 25 children! On top of this the children get access to the football pitches and sports hall within the Wandle Recreation Centre where the school is located.

The nursery operates under the Greenwood Philosophy, which focuses on holistic, child-led and outdoor learning, as well as teaching children about the importance of community and the environment. Under this philosophy, children are encouraged to explore the world around them, follow their natural curiosity and develop their social, emotional and physical wellbeing, all in a safe and purpose-built environment.

Each day is designed by a team of experienced and knowledgeable practitioners, offering a stimulating environment for children to explore their likes and dislikes and learn and play in a way that suits them. The staff are well trained in spotting the children play patterns, or schemas, to develop bespoke learning experiences for each unique child.

On top of the curriculum the children enjoy extra curricular activities throughout the week including; Music, dance, drama, sculpture and tennis.

Greenwood is paired with Pines Care Home where the children visit on a weekly basis for intergenerational sessions where the children join of group of care home residents for group activities.

Our daughter has been at Greenwood for the past 18 months and we couldn't be happier. She absolutely loves it! She started at a different nursery when she was 1 and we were hesitant to move her but honestly it was the best decision. Greenwood is so different from any other local nursery we have looked
at locally thanks to its park-based location, on site forest school, soft play and a sports hall. The kids have so much space to run around and develop. They do weekly ballet, music, tennis, drama and sports classes and often take children off site. The staff are just superb! We look forward to our younger daughter joining the greenwood family next year.

I could not recommend Greenwood nursery more. My daughter has flourished beyond words here. The forest school set up and access to the other sports facilities is amazing. The staff couldn't be more nurturing or caring or amazing. I am going to be so sad when her time here has to come to an end. I wish
she could stay there forever!

A fantastic, nurturing nursery which offers plentiful enrichment. The setting itself is wonderful, with ample outdoor space (both a large, recently renovated garden, and its own forest!) which is so rare in London. The teachers are all caring, knowledgeable and committed to the development of the children,
and every teacher knows every child regardless of whether they are in their group, offering children the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with all staff. There are daily activities, amazing menus and frequent trips, both formal outings to the London landmarks or the farm and as hockey excursions to Wimbledon or Richmond Commons (not just once a year outings which seems common in London nurseries!).
We couldn't be happier with Greenwood and recommend it highly.

We have sent both our kids to Greenwood for a combined total of 5 years. The setup of the nursery alongside the teachers make it a very unique proposition for central london, giving children that ability to explore the outside!

The environment created for the children is warm and happy. The range of activities they enjoy each week is truly incredible. All the staff are exceptionally

Greenwood Nursery has been wonderful for our children. The teachers are incredibly caring, creative, and nurturing-everything we could hope for. The combination of indoor and outdoor play areas, access to forest school, and the wide range of engaging activities has given our children the strongest possible
start. They've truly thrived and have loved going every day. They feel proud of their nursery, and the sense of community there is genuinely special and very strong.

Very good nursery. It's the second one we attended. The previous nursery has very little outdoor space. Greenwood has lots of space, large garden, big tent, forest playground, sports hall and lots of school trips. The little one loves it immensely. Brilliant staff, very friendly and caring

My daughter is really thriving and loving her days at Greenwood - she sometimes asks to go in on a Saturday. We have made wonderful life long friends through the nursery community and they offer so many activities from forest school, weekly bouncy castle and soft play, and trips on the mini bus - a
highlight has definitely been the visits to the care homes. Her key worker Annabell is very nurturing and her care is very personal to each child and family. Would definitely recommend!

My children have attended Greenwood since 2021 with the older one now at school and the younger one still attending.
The setting is amazing with forest school onsite, use of the wandle Rec pitches and sports hall, a garden with green house for growing food and plants. They also have their own mini
bus to take them to Wimbledon common and Richmond park.
Activities are engaging and varied- tennis, music, soft play, library and food banks visits.
The food is freshly cooked on site and the staff are engaged, lovely and truly care about the children.

Far beyond the standard, the setting really makes it - next to the River Wandle and inside King George's Park, with regular forest school sessions that get the kids outdoors and exploring. The organic food is also a big plus.
A lovely, down-to-earth place where children can grow in confidence and have
a lot of fun.

We couldn't be happier with this nursery. They provide such a warm, nurturing environment and make every day exciting for the children with a wide range of fun and engaging activities. From cooking and gardening to yoga, sports, and themed parties, there's always something enriching happening.
They
also organise lovely outdoor trips to places like parks and animal centres, which our little boy absolutely loves. The food is excellent, and the learning experiences are thoughtfully planned and varied.
What really stands out is how much they involve parents-inviting us in for story sessions and keeping us connected to our child's development. They also use a great app to communicate with parents, regularly sharing photos and updates so we can see what our child is up to each day, what he's eating, and details of any trips or activities.
The early years are so important, and this nursery gives children the best possible start.
We feel very lucky to have found them.

We absolutely love this nursery! With two children attending, we've had consistently wonderful experiences. The staff are incredibly nurturing, caring, and genuinely invested in each child's development.
A standout feature is their on-site forest school and strong focus on outdoor play - the children
spend so much time exploring, learning, and building confidence outside. The range of activities is fantastic, and the outdoor facilities are truly the best in the area.
We also really value their commitment to healthy, locally sourced food, all freshly prepared there.
They have their own mini bus which the kids love to go on - they've been to the park, pumpkin patch and other adventures which are always a highlight
We couldn't be happier and would highly recommend this nursery to any parent.

Both my son and my daughter have gone to this nursery and I feel so lucky to have found it. There is so much outdoor space which is a blessing in London - and they do so many great activities: from tennis, yoga, dancing, forest school and even dropping food at the food bank. They also go out to the
common once a week to explore. They cook all food fresh on site and the kids even help as they learn how to prep the veg!
The staff are amazing and both my son (who went quite shy) and my daughter have thrived in their settings!
Couldn't recommend it more!

We absolutely love Greenwood - it has been fantastic for all three of our children. It's in a beautiful green setting with a forest school as well as astro pitches for lots of running around and tennis etc. The staff are incredible - many have been there for years. The activities are next level - dancing,
drama, tennis, music with Ed who brings in his guitar every Thursday to sing with the children, drama, yoga. There's a lot of emphasis on each child's personal development and we couldn't have felt more supported with our three. Not to mention all of the meals and snacks are delicious, healthy, organic and free range! They get the kids involved in the cooking too. The forest school is a beautiful way to learn. And other days they have bouncy castle in the sports hall! Couldn't recommend more. Great communication too. Well worth the fees.

We have been with Greenwood for our children since 2021 and it's INCREDIBLE!
The children benefit from a variety of activities with the use of the sports hall, pitches and forest school. Our kids have played tennis, practiced yoga, spent hours at forest school, loved bouncy castle time, soft play and
the adventure zone not to mention school trips to fabulous locations all over from the park to the museum and Hampton court.
They get chef prepared on the premises meals and tonnes of care and support from the staff. Our eldest was so sad to leave when it was time to start school!
I know that starting at 18months can cause some issues but we transferred from other nurseries which were fabulous also, but greenwood offers a brilliant stepping stone to school.

It's just great. Kids are well looked after, fed like kings, activities to compete with Gaelic games and lots of learning and outdoor activities. The staff are well qualified, thoughtful and always on hand. I've had two children attend the nursery with a third on the way over 4 years and am very pleased.

A brilliant nursery that encourages and prioritises outdoor active learning and exploring, something close to my heart growing up in South Africa with lots of space. Finding this gem of a nursery was partially lucky and I couldn’t be happier that my child has found a place where teachers encourage independence
while offering a helping hand when needed. As a parent, I have been incredibly impressed with the app that facilitates timely and helpful information and helps us keep abreast with what the little ones are up to daily. The staff have all been fantastic and friendly and honestly, I couldn’t recommend more.

Excellent nursery with regards to activities, location and staff. We took a long time choosing our nursery and Greenwood’s has not disappointed. Something we are incredibly happy with is the care that the staff have for the children - this trumps everything for us.
We also love how engaging the staff
are with the children, be that inside playing or outside in the forest school. Because the nursery is enclosed on it’s complex, provides a huge comfort to parents.
Overall, we are very happy with Greenwood Nursery.

The nursery staff are cheerful, organised and very caring. My little grandchild has settled quickly, loves the activities and has masses of confidence. The pictures of his day displayed on the Famly App show him being creative, exploring and having good old fashioned fun. He is a joyful little soul
who is well understood and encouraged which is so important. I can highly recommend Greenwood Nursery Wandle for its excellent early year's provision.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.938 for Greenwood Nursery Wandle is calculated as follows: ( (180 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 192 Ratings = 4.938
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Greenwood Nursery Wandle is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 number of registered child places is 11.2, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
