My granddaughter is very well treated and the staff very friendly.
I have been very impressed by the staff at this nursery and the attentive and personal care that they offer to my niece, who has special needs, helping her to meet her developmental goals. I know that this has been a huge support to my sister. I feel more than happy leaving my niece at the nursery in their capable hands in the knowledge that she will be safe and happy there. In fact, my niece seems to really be thriving there. What a special nursery.
My daughter has been attending Brixton Community Nursery for the past 10 months. She has Downs Syndrome and the staff at BCN have been wonderful in engaging with her and structuring her care. She loves her key worker(s) and has come on in (almost literal) leaps and bounds both socially and physically. This year the staff decorated the nursery for World Downs Syndrome day and engaged everyone, including other parents, in learning about Downs and celebrating my daughter. BCN is a wonderful nursery and community, but rather lacking in facilities and equipment. I would whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone.
We're now using Brixton LEYF for our second child. We couldn't be happier with the support they get, particularly in the early years. A special call out to the Chef, who cooks some truly amazing food.
I found everyone at the nursery to be extremely professional and friendly. As a teacher myself, I could immediately see the care and commitment that the staff had for the children. My grandchild is very happy there and enjoys her time there. She has made lovely friends.
In addition, I think the weekly report that is sent through to parents on Fridays, is extremely informative, with ideas of how parents can follow up on play themes over the weekend.
This Nursery provides an excellent start for the fortunate children that attend.
As a parent and now a grandparent, I know how difficult a decision it can be to release your "little ones" into the care of someone else for ANY time, let alone for a whole day. In the case of Brixton Nursery, however, any doubts were soon proved completely unfounded: our granddaughter is not only happy and secure there; she is quite disappointed if it's NOT a Nursery day.
Every visit there is a joy: everyone on the staff is friendly, professional and interested in the welfare of all the children. Our granddaughter has been attending the Nursery for more than two years and has clearly benefited from her interaction with her peers and the staff, growing in confidence and independence.
From my experience of a recent Dads' Evening (Grandpas were allowed in, too!) I can attest that the chef is excellent, and the whole ethos of the staff working as a team is obvious.
I highly recommend this Nursery to anyone seeking a friendly, loving Childcare place for their children.
I love how happy my daughter goes to the nursery. It is not easy to trust anyone looking after your own child, however, I soon felt that I could trust the staff in the nursery. I also feel that the time she spends there that it is time she is learning and enjoying and not a waste of time and money.
My son loves his nursery, the staff are all very observant and committed, I always feel content and happy knowing he is there.
This is a warm, friendly and caring nursery. The staff always greet everyone with a smile and seem to take genuine pleasure in their work. They make good use of the resources they have and my daughter enjoys her days there. The staff often go above and beyond, providing opportunities to help parents and carers build relationships and opening up the nursery for special events such as Mothers’ Day and Easter parties. The food also seems varied and nutritious. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery.
We now have our second child in the nursery and both have had an amazing time there. Everybody is really nice to both the kids and parents and both our kids are always happy when they are dropped there. They seem to know our children extremely well and care about them. And of course one can not forget the amazing food that the chef prepares on a daily basis. Thank you everyone for looking after our children.
Fantastic nursery highly recommend. My daughter has gone from strength to strength attending both nursery and creche.
This is a great nursery. The staff are really connected to the children and their families and my son is extremely happy there. Shout out to chef too who does a stellar job keeping all the kids' nutritional needs satisfied.
This really is a good nursery. The staff is attentive, resourceful and imaginative. The activities they organise are stimulating, intelligent, and truly speak about a diverse world. They all work well together, which creates a warm and caring environment for children to grow in, and they are also very good at creating possibilities out of the space/resources they have.
The variety of foods given to the kids is incredible and the chef is involved in all activities, which means the children are interested in eating and exploring food. Also, as it's a small nursery, the kids learn social interaction and respect for others while still getting individual care and attention.
Our daughter has been at the nursery only for six months. She was never a shy or quiet kid, but since she's there, she's grown more confident but also kinder, more attentive and more polite! Every day she talks about the things she learns there and when we go to pick her up, she never wants to leave!
This is a great nursery. Caring staff. The kids love it. So do the parents! Highlights include the amazing food cooked by the chef, the focus on learning and development, and the fact the kids get to use the soft play zone in the leisure centre regularly.
- The staff are very caring and have great personal connections with the kids.
- The nursery feels like a community, holding regular events for children and grown-ups.
- The daily activities are well thought through and varied.
- The children get taken on plenty of outings around the local area.
- The food is delicious, cooked on site by their wonderful chef who also does cooking activities with the children.
- They are excellent at communicating - a regular Friday roundup email, parents evenings, and good everyday interactions with staff.
I cannot recommend it highly enough. Fantastic!
I am very happy my son attends Brixton nursery they take good care of my son. He learned his colours and numbers alphabet, so many things at the age of 2 years old, they have helped him talk more.
This is an outstanding nursery. Our daughter has been looked after with real care and real creativity and, ever since her settling-in period, has looked forward to attending. The activities are fantastic, particularly artwork (including the exhibitions!) and dance in the studio. Our daughter has made a number of good friends at the nursery and we have felt part of the community - the parent events have been great fun. The care and detail in reports and attention paid to safeguarding have been very reassuring. I would recommend this nursery without reservation.
Our son has been attending the nursery from the age of 7 months, leaving a child that young comes with feelings of guilt, but the staff have been just brilliant - he developed such a lovely bond with his key carer (our son's first word was the name of his carer!) it made it so much easier for me to leave him every morning safe in the knowledge he would be loved and cared for.
I am in no doubt that his understanding of the diverse environment he lives in has been enhanced due to the regular outings to the market and the wonderful mix of nationalities and backgrounds he experiences on a daily basis.
The staff are truly wonderful, as is the newly appointed manager who has been with the nursery for quite some time and has kept the spirit of the nursery alive with her thoughtful approach to activities and inclusivity.
There is also a fantastic approach to food and nutrition - the chef, by some kind of wizardry, is able to get my son to eat things he flatly refuses to eat at home!
I couldn’t be happier with this nursery for my little boy. He is welcomed warmly in the morning and is always busy and taken care of when I arrive to pick him up. The best part about this nursery is the people who work there - they are personable and understanding and I leave knowing my son is getting the best care and attention.
