Located in Shoreham-by-Sea town centre, Sunshine Day Nursery was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 2018. In the same year, the nursery won The Worthing Herald Nursery of the Year award. The nursery benefits from a purpose built outdoor space which allows children of all ages to enjoy outdoor play, all year round. Inside, the nursery offers a warm and homely environment in a lovely converted Victorian Police Station.

Staff are warm, welcoming and passionate about their work with children! The nursery exceeds Ofsted staff to child ratios and all staff have a relevant childcare qualification.

The youngest children are cared for in the Baby room which offers a separate cot area allowing children to rest in comfort with the reassurance of experienced staff close by. As babies grow, they move into 'Tiddler' and then 'Toddler' rooms which offer a range of messy play activities as well as age appropriate play equipment and dedicated areas such as small world play and play kitchen areas. Children then move on to the Pre-school unit which prepares them for the transition between nursery and primary school. The Pre-School unit is comprised of a large room dedicated to different activities, including art and craft, a quiet area and large play space. The Pre-School children have easy access to the outdoor play space.

My son has been going to this nursery full time since he was 4 months old when I needed to return to work. There is not one bad thing I would say about the nursery, the staff are so lovely and really care about the children. His key worker has been amazing and senior carer is just out of this world.
They all go above and beyond their job roles and my son smiles and laughs when I drop him off. I have not one worry leaving him in their care. The notifications I get during the day showing me what he is up to are extra special. I can not recommend this place enough and it breaks my heart we are leaving due to needing a nursery closer to where I work. If you are looking for a place that is caring, friendly and the peace of mind your child is safe, this is the place for you.

Absolutely fantastic nursery. Looked after my boy from 6-11 months - so sad to be moving away as he loved going and I always felt so reassured he was being well cared for.
They were so flexible and accommodating.
Loved the tapestry updates! Would highly recommend.

When I visited Sunshine Nursery before my daughter started, I knew straight away she would be happy here. The staff are really helpful, friendly and always take the time to tell you about your childs day.

Ever since she started, it was a bit of a battle to let her go as she was very upset, as a parent it was very upsetting! But thanks to the amazing management team and staff who reassured me at all times, would let me sit in the office to see her calm down, I overcome this challenge! As my daughter only
showed slow improvement and selective mutism was mentioned, which I've never heard off. The staff/ management offered support and specific activities straight away! Basically I don't know how to thank them all for beeing so kind, understanding and supportive! I probably wouldn't understand till today why she is the way she is. My daughter seems to like nursery a lot and comes back home with all these exciting news and moves from ballet! Although she doesn't speak a lot she takes it all in and has developed very well in all areas. Thank you so much for all these reassuring words and actions! And thank you for treating my little girl with so much patience and care and understanding.

Sunshine Nursery provides and excellent day care service for my child.
She loves coming to nursery and the staff can never be too helpful.
Would highly recommend to friends and family.
I receive regular updates about my child's progress via the Tapestry system and daily updates are provided in her
book.

Sunshine is exactly what I hoped a nursery would be.
The nursery cared for my eldest from 5 months until school, now they look after my youngest.
The team obviously works together to create a stimulating and nurturing environment. My children are very much known as individuals by the staff.
The
nursery works with me for the good of my children. The insights they have offered into child development have been invaluable. The relationship I have with this nursery has, without doubt, enabled me to be a better parent.
I have many specific examples of occasions when staff have helped my children reach goals or overcome difficulties.
My children love Sunshine, my oldest still recalls happy times there and was very well prepared for school.
Sunshine is a place filled with fun and joy and it is clearly the staff that make it such a great place. Whoever does the hiring is a genius. I have never known so many people work together so smoothly for so long.
Long may it continue!

My child is always extremely happy to come to nursery and always is excited to see the staff who are warm and welcoming. It is great to see the staff team stays generally the same and there is always someone we know who welcomes you by name.
His social skills have come on in leaps and bounds.
We
love tapestry too to see what a lovely time he is having.

My daughter has been attending Sunshine for two years and enjoys it. Communication with staff is good and we are regularly kept up to date with how she is progressing. It's a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and we would recommend it to others.

Since joining the nursery my daughter has grown and developed so much at a young age, it's amazing. She's learning new words every week, singing songs and learning to play with other children. She only goes two times a week, yet friends and family often comment on how she understands so much and can
say a lot and I'll always say it's because of her time in the nursery. She absolutely loves nursery and it makes it so much easier to leave her in a place she has so much fun in. I would recommend the nursery to everyone I know.

My husband and I have been very impressed with Sunshine since our son started there in October 2016. He was not an easy child to settle but with the help and support of the staff particularly his keyworker he has settled brilliantly and now loves nursery.
All of the staff are very friendly and it is
lovely how they all show an interest in my son. I am often stopped on my way to collect him by a member of staff telling me a little anecdote about his day.


I feel he has come on leaps and bounds since he has been at Sunshine and he really thrives in the way this particular nursery works.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sunshine.

I am remarkably happy with Sunshine Day Nursery in Shoreham, the care for our 3-year-old has been excellent, we came from a previous nursery, and since our daughter has been going to Sunshine she has come on leaps and bounds.


She has a lot more confidence and definitely has learnt a lot from the

staff and how they educate the children. The structure of the nursery is excellent with ample amount of garden space to play and learn. Our daughter finds it enjoyable to go to nursery and every time we pick her up she is excited to tell us what she has been up to.


I couldn't thank all of the staff enough for the excellent care and attention to detail on how the children learn throughout the sessions attended. Thank you Sunshine. I will definitely recommend this nursery to others.
