Leys Nursery & Pre-School

I feel absolutely compelled to share a deeply heartbreaking experience from my one-year-old son's time at Leys Nursery & Pre-School. After just seven weeks, my baby sustained a devastating injury when a staff member slammed his tiny hand in a door-resulting in a swollen finger, a lost nail, and immense trauma. As a mom, I was absolutely heartbroken watching my one-year-old suffer like this. The staff constantly changed their story, and I was never informed that day. There was no welfare check, no call, and no investigation until I demanded one. The person conducting the investigation was not only biased but also cold and rude. Even the incident form was filled out incorrectly and with false information. As a mother, my trust was shattered-I regret not removing him sooner. My son never seemed happy, and he has suffered lasting trauma-restless nights, fear, and stress. I beg all parents not to send their children here. No child should go through what my baby did.

My toddler began attending this nursery in September and really enjoys the variety of play thats offered - especially messy play such as clay, sand and spaghetti messy play using cooking utensils. We like how my toddler was allocated a key worker right from the beginning which helped a lot in settling and reassuring my child into the new nursery environment. The staff are friendly and attentive to my child's needs. The nursery staff also give regular updates on what my child has been involved in/playing with and how they've generally been throughout the day!

I am very happy with the nursery, they take great care of my son and are very good with him. The teachers are always smiling and polite. I would like to thank all the staff at the daycare center for taking care of my son and when I drop him off I have confidence and know that they will make sure that he has a pleasant time.

My experience was really good the hospitality the care for the children is very good, the learning is very well good. My son has a very well balanced diet at school and it has helped him come out of his comfort zone trying new things and helping him have more social skills.

Leys Nursery is a wonderful setting for children - my son attended before he started school, and now my daughter is there. The staff are very caring and provide regular updates. They set out a range of activities for the children throughout the day and always include time outdoors every day.

I highly recommend Leys Nursery for any parent or carer looking for a safe, happy and stimulating environment for their child!

Our son is in need of special assistance quite a lot of the time as he’s non-verbal at the moment and the amount of effort all the staff put into him is amazing, they all give an incredibly warm feeling and make one feel incredibly comfortable with sending their child to them. I’m incredibly impressed and thankful for everything they do for my son and how they are always trying to do things in the best interest of him. I couldn’t ask for better. Even when my son is having his little moments the staff are right there helping calm him. They are always so consistent with keeping us updated whether it be photos of him or just noticing they’ve changed his nappy. They are honestly and truly amazing.

They are low on staffing and I can see this as more targeted work could be done with the children starting reception this year.

Good communication with parents on events and important dates, excellent care of children's development and often feedback on milestones, and life skills. Development/encouragement through various activities at the nursery.

My son has been attending Leys for the last two years and I've seen so much growth with his social interaction. The staff are attentive and show a level of care for all children. They're quick to pick up the needs of a child and take action promptly and effectively. It's one of the best nurseries in the area.

She has bonded beautifully with one team member particularly but appears really relaxed and happy around every team member. When she comes back she is always nicely dressed, clean, smells lovely - she is content. Everyone we have met is compassionate, practical, reassuring and approachable. The whole process was as close to effortless as possible. We were very apprehensive before dropping off our daughter for her shadowing sessions but everything has gone perfectly and we could not be happier. We felt heard, understood and respected, and our daughter's and family's needs were taken into genuine consideration. This whole team has earned our trust very quickly.

I have one child who has moved on to school and another currently at the nursery. Both children have had a fantastic time. They are always eager and happy to go, come home with fun stories and lots of proud art. The staff have always been attentive, informative and happy to talk about the children's progress and keep us updated. We have had a fantastic experience and would recommend to others. Thanks.

I am very pleased with how my son has settled into nursery since he joined in March. It is a very nurturing environment where the staff are very helpful and friendly. They have built a good relationship with my son and it is evident that his well-being is their top priority. The room is large, well equipped and always clean and tidy. The children have plenty of opportunities for outdoor play and again, space is well resourced with age-appropriate equipment. He has had the opportunity to do so many different activities since he joined the nursery to promote and support all areas of his development.

Feedback from the staff is excellent on a daily basis and gives me an insight into what he has been doing.

I am completely confident in leaving my son in the care of the Leys staff and knowing that he is safe and happy.

It is always hard returning back to work and having to leave your child but Leys Nursery at Dagenham makes it easier, they are kind, caring and supportive to you and your child.

I have trusted this nursery with both my children from when they were both under 1 year old. I have always found them to be professional, caring and conscientious in their looking after/education of my children from 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday. My children both love and loved attending and have thrived under their care. My children get lots of love and engaging activities. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Ultimately they are as caring at the end of the day as at the beginning.

Fantastic engagement from staff to children and to parents. Thorough run-down of the day every day at pick-up. My child was very shy and cried when left on the first day. By day 5, was walking in on his own and asking to not leave! At parents evening we are given a progress book that is explained as easy to follow but there are no surprises because of the level of engagement every day. Staff will and have gone out of their way to help. I desperately wanted my children to go here. My gut was right and I have never regretted the decision. Highly recommend and recommended to friends.
