The staff plan an incredible range of creative activities - they watch tadpoles develop, chicks hatching, climb ladders and make soup, for example. Our son has grown so much in confidence and communication since joining, and we've felt fully supported every step. We could not recommend this nursery more highly.
The nursery truly is a home from home for us, as my daughter was there before she went to school. The care and support of the staff is brilliant and is reflected in my happy little boy who enjoys his time there. It really is a special place, with a real sense of community where I know my children are safe and happy.
This nursery has a community feel and experienced, long-term staff. The babies get a lot of indoor and outdoor space to roam, and pushchairs to nap in, which most nurseries in Cambridge do not have on offer as an option. I have heard that other nurseries are quick to call parents to collect when their child cries when settling in, but the staff at the Fields will keep trying and will call only if actually required. My baby only speaks a handful of words, one of them being 'please' which he learned at nursery. They work with parent preferences for weaning styles - my baby was baby-led only and they fully supported that. The quality of care and dedicated staff at this nursery make it outstanding.
My daughter (aged 4) loves this nursery and I can't rate it highly enough.
The staff are very experienced and there are a high number of qualified teachers.
It has brilliant outdoor facilities. Children can play outside all day. They incorporate many forest school activities such as regular campfires and a more wild grass area.
There is a child led approach to play and I have been amazed by how much my daughter has grown in confidence and ability during her time there.
They offer reasonably priced wrap around care and are very flexible about one off sessions. If children stay for lunch, there is great home cooked food (mostly locally sourced). They have done a great job at improving my daughter's table manners and encouraging her to try new foods.
