View Full Details of Pennthorpe SchoolI couldn't be happier with my daughter's experience in the Honeypot class. The nursery provides such a rich variety of resources, and I'm especially impressed by their wonderful Forest School sessions. The team also puts so much thought into planning exciting activities. Every member of staff we've met has been both incredibly friendly and thoroughly professional. They create a warm, nurturing environment where my daughter feels safe, valued, and supported in her learning. We feel so fortunate to be part of this nursery community and couldn't recommend the Honeypot class more highly!
Our eldest child enjoyed every day he spent in both the Honey Pot and Beehive. He enjoyed water play, painting, forest school, baking and much more. He developed wonderful relationships with the incredible staff and children in his class. When he moved into Reception at Pennthorpe School the transition was seamless. Our youngest child has just moved from the Honey Pot into Beehive. She is loving it so much and it is amazing to watch her grow in confidence and independence daily. We highly recommend Pennthorpe School!
Our son joined the Beehive (pre-Reception year) and settled in very quickly, making friends and feeling at home from the start. The Beehive year provides a great foundation for learning, introducing phonics, maths, and early writing in a way that feels engaging and age-appropriate, ensuring children are well prepared for Reception. The teachers have been wonderful at encouraging and nurturing each child's individual interests. In our son's case, embracing his love of art with many creative opportunities to develop his skills. The children also benefit from the school's specialist teachers, e.g. forest school sessions in the school's own woods and PE twice a week. Beehive children are also included in wider school activities e.g. assemblies, the Christmas Play and Sports Day. There are also lovely opportunities for parents to get involved in school life such as parents' football and netball. We've been so happy with the nursery - it's been a wonderful start to our son's school journey.
We enrolled my son into The Honey Pot to start just after his second birthday in September 2023. He had been at home for the first two years of his life so it was important to us he was somewhere small, nurturing and with great facilities so he could grow in his experiences and confidence. We were particularly impressed with how the staff treat the children as their own, genuinely caring about our son and being so positive and enthusiastic about his time at the nursery. We also really loved his exposure to the facilities in the wider school and to be able to participate in assemblies and other activities with some older children, which really grew his confidence. We kept our son in the nursery as he moved up to the next group The Beehive, after a year at The Honey Pot. This transition was seamless, he was so excited, and the excellent experience we had in his first year continued and grew. He is the youngest in the academic year but his development has been extremely impressive.
