Our daughter recently moved from another LGR to Tadcaster Road due to it being closer to our new home. She has settled in better than I could have ever imagined, she has made great friends & always so excited to go to nursery! The staff are wonderful & always providing new activities for the children to keep them engaged. The garden play area is huge & they seem to have lots of outdoor time. Couldn't recommend them more! We are so pleased with our decision to move to LGR Tadcaster Road!

Our family has been with Little Green Rascals for around four years - first with our daughter and now with our son - and we couldn't recommend it more highly. The staff are wonderful; so many long-term members who are exactly the kind of people you'd want to stay, and any new staff quickly feel like part of the family. The child-centred care is top-notch. Our daughter left confident and ready for school, and our son is thriving in Busy Bumblebees after starting in Wiggly Worms. The Forest School is brilliant, and both kids love the extra activities. The food is fantastic, the facilities are excellent, and we've always felt our children were safe, happy, and valued. Nick in the car park and Karen on the front desk make every day that bit easier. Exactly what I need as a busy, often stressed, parent! A truly nurturing, inspiring place - thank you, LGR!

The staff is amazing and they have activities such as Football and Baby Band and Science talks. But specifically the staff my daughter was missing them lots when went to our long holiday. The teachers can get extra support though - from cleaners for example. So the teachers can focus on the kids and teaching.

Our two boys have been so happy and well looked after at this nursery. The staff are wonderful and really get to know every child and family. The communication with parents during the day is also good :)

My daughter is currently in the preschool room and has attended the nursery since birth. The care she has received from the staff has been exceptional throughout the nursery. She is currently being supported by the SENDCo too, who has kept us informed each step of the way and the team who work on her outcomes at nursery have shared her progress on a regular basis. The food is excellent and her dietary requirements are catered for well. The parent 'grab and go' breakfast is a welcome addition to the morning and the nursery definitely goes that extra mile. My daughter goes happily into nursery with a smile each day.

Absolutely brilliant place . My child got the best care I could imagine. Absolutely everything works brilliant for us ...from delicious organic food up to learning level. Kids got a lots of different activities like rugby or yoga. All staff members are brilliant. We love forest school

The nursery is a warm and welcoming place to bring our little humans. I love the focus on learning and the outdoor play. I always feel there is a great balance of nurtured care as well as educational development. I get regular updates and videos and pictures throughout the day. The communication from the staff is great and there are regular news letters and updates on the app. The food the children have is organic and smells lovely every day. I know it's a great balanced diet. Where my little human is not grasping something, his key worker is excellent at building in fun educational time to support him. She is an excellent key worker and genuinely cares. I really love that the children get activity classes in the nursery like baby baby band. The car parking attendant is fantastic he is always there to help a smooth drop off. Another member of staff is awesome nothing is too much bother she is always available to help. Overall I highly recommend the nursery.

LGR has been a really positive place for my oldest daughter to go. It's not just childcare, but a space to grow and learn. The staff are extremely patient and caring towards the children and really help to make every day count in terms of learning and experiences. Their forest school has been a particular favourite to my homebody daughter, it's really increased her confidence and assisted in her learning and becoming ready for school. My youngest daughter will be starting LGR soon and i am excited to see how LGR enhances her learning journey too.

My daughter moved to Little Green Rascals in January 2025, and the staff have been brilliant from the moment we inquired about availability, to settling in sessions, and to her transition to the pre school room. She became confident and made friends very quickly, thanks to their careful support. She's just had her first parents evening and I couldn't praise her key worker more for her understanding and care of my daughter. She's already very well prepared for starting school and loves going to nursery to do phonics, forest school, yoga and play. What a fab nursery this is.

My daughter started just before she turned 1 in April 2024. They were brilliant at getting her settled and taking the time to make both her and myself comfortable with the transition. My daughter bonded with the staff and I really love the updates we get throughout the day. Pick up and drop off are brilliant because you get to go into the room and collect her and so you get to see her with all of her little friends and see the staff interacting with the kids. Finally, the development I've seen in my child has been precious, they do so many educational activities and I feel like they have a real love for her and get to know her little quirks.

My son has been at the nursery about a year. Since joining, he has really enjoyed it - all the extra activities especially rugby tots, science tots and baby baby. He also loves the food (often having more than one portion). A special mention to the room leader - cheeky hens, the room leader - bumble bees and the office manager - all are brillant , helpful and clearly love their jobs and the children. I would recommend this nursery without a doubt. Very slight downside is the limited parking and gets very busy at peak times - but the parking attendant is brillant. I only drive when it is less busy as the car park is quite tight and it's preferable to reverse park!

A wonderful, caring nursery. We would not choose anywhere else. The activities are carefully thought out and we get regular updates. The staff are fantastic, my little boy loves it and is always happy and has lots of fun!

I sent my son to LGR Tadcaster Road from when he was 19 months old until he just turned 3. The only reason we are moving is to go to another LGR that is closer to his older siblings primary school. My son has been incredibly happy at LGR and has formed close bonds with many members of staff. It is a friendly, welcoming place and he has truly thrived! The fact that he gets to do rugby, football, yoga and science is an added bonus. Communication has been good during his time there, and it has been like a community which both boys (even the one at school!) feel a part of. I'm looking forward to see my son develop further in preschool at his new LGR

Little green rascals Tadcaster Road is such a wonderful nursery, both of my children have thrived in this fantastic nursery thanks to the amazing staff that work there. I can't say anything bad about it and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a childcare option in this area of York.

LGR has been fantastic for my child - this will be the second year and each time we've moved rooms the staff have been so supportive in getting to know his needs (and ours!) Communication has been fab too! A very personalised and supportive experience!

Thank you for all you do, from the office team through to the practitioners, their tenacity and attention to detail is exceptional. The time my little rascal has spent at this nursery has truly been a wonderful experience. I cannot recommend you enough!!

Both our children go to Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Tadcaster Road 3 days a week. Both have settled in very quickly, starting at 3 years old and 11 months. They are enjoying their time there thanks to the extremely caring staff and lovely activities. We have seen our eldest grow in confidence and build friendships, she is also making good progress with phonics and getting ready for school. Finally, the focus on sports/outdoor activities is exceptional, forest school, yoga, rugby, and mini kicks, are making a real difference.

We have been with Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Tadcaster Road for three years and have been happy from day one to current day. Every aspect of our children's needs are looked after, and when we need more, whether it#s an extra day, an early drop off or advice they are always here to help. We would always recommend Little Green Rascals to friends and although we have no more kids, if we do they will come here. The car park is very very good.

Staff members who have looked after our daughter have been amazing. Our daughter has formed such a bond having updates via the app with photos and what they have been up to and eaten throughout the day has been incredibly comforting, love receiving updates through the app.

Little Green Rascals Tadcaster Road is a very good nursery. Our second child is there currently, following in the footsteps of our first. Whilst it is not the cheapest nursery, there are no hidden expenses like nappies, sun cream, meals, etc. A few slight concerns are creeping in since the founder and owner sold the group to a national nursery chain, giving rise to concerns that activities such as "Forest School" may be phased out, which would be a shame as our kids both loved it.
