View Full Details of Chester Day Nursery & Nursery SchoolMy child loves the staff at the nursery, and they are wonderful with him. He is always happy to attend, and sometimes doesn't want to leave as he enjoys spending time with his friends and his key workers. Although he has a couple of additional needs these have been incorporated into the day without any issues and it is very much appreciated.
Could not recommend Chester Day Nursery enough! They've been fab with my little girl who has been going since she was 9 months old and is now 19 months old. The staff in Hedgehogs are so kind and welcoming, my little one always has a big smile on her face walking into the room. She enjoys the activities set up throughout the day and the outings in the buggy bus to the park. She's developed so much since starting this nursery and it's great to see how each activity helps to develop her skills and learning. Seeing her enjoying herself on the daily pictures is a highlight of the day and always so reassuring knowing we made the right decision by choosing this nursery.
Fantastic nursery! Has made my baby boy feel so comfortable and safe, he loves experimenting with all the fun activities and trips they provide for him. They always keep us up to date with his day to day sessions as well as his overall progress. They also make me feel very happy and reassured that he is in excellent hands. The food is also excellent; healthy, fresh and a great variety of dishes every week.
We are proud of our daughter for how much she has progressed with her walking and speaking in a short time from when she started in the Nursery. From first day the staff was very welcoming with us and helped with everything what we needed. We highly recommend the Nursery, and a massive thank you to all the staff!
Our four-year-old has been at Chester Day Nurseries and Preschool for three months, and we're so happy with it. The staff are all incredibly friendly and welcoming, and she settled in straight away. Her confidence and independence have grown so much, and she's now more than ready for school. Communication is great, and it's a genuinely happy, supportive environment. We were really impressed by the lovely outdoor space at the nursery, and the children also get to visit Grosvenor Park, which adds some variety. The food is also excellent - healthy and well-balanced. A brilliant nursery all round!
I would highly recommend Chester Day Nursery. The staff are excellent. They are very knowledgeable, experienced and work with great care. My son really enjoys attending and has established good relationships with the staff and children. Communication home is very good, both in terms of daily detail and more general activity. There are opportunities for parents and carers to get involved, for example reading with the children or attending stay and play for special days such as Father's Day. The setting is fantastic - spacious and with a great garden where they can grow and taste their own vegetables. My son is very happy at Chester Day Nursery and he is encouraged and supported during these crucial early years.
As a parent, choosing the right nursery is one of the most important decisions, and I couldn't be happier with our experience at Chester day nursery. From day one, the staff have been warm, professional, and incredibly nurturing. They took the time to get to know my child personally, understanding their needs, interests, and personality. The facilities are clean, bright, and safe. There's a wonderful mix of indoor and outdoor activities, and I've noticed a big improvement in my child's social and cognitive development since joining. The curriculum is both fun and educational, striking a perfect balance between structured learning and creative play. I also really appreciate the regular updates, photos, and feedback we receive, which help us feel involved and reassured throughout the day. It's clear that the staff genuinely care about the children and take pride in what they do.
Lovely day nursery, which my granddaughter loves attending. She has lots of opportunities to play and learn, and they have great days for families to join in. I came to their celebration for Mother’s Day and was very impressed that they handled this well for the children who didn’t have a family member attend. A great little nursery.
Chester Day Nursery has been absolutely brilliant for my daughter! She has developed so much since starting in June 2021, and absolutely loves going! The staff are attentive and caring towards her, and help to develop her social, language and motor skills through different activities tailored to her interests. They are very communicative and always contact us whenever she has an accident, and the updates via the app are great as well. The food they serve is fantastic, and my daughter loves it (even if she’d never try it at home!). Overall, I can’t recommend Chester Day Nursery enough; the team are great, and you can tell they really care about the children.
Two years together, and we didn't have any problems. All the staff were nice and very helpful. My child is always happy to go and see everyone. They have great outdoor places and a garden with a lot of activities. Highly recommend. Thank you.
This nursery has been absolutely amazing since my son started in September 2023. The time, care, patience and support of all staff at this nursery has been incredible not just with my son but with myself a single parent also the continued support that is given while my son had his diagnosis whilst still attending nursery with their support and care for my son. There is always someone to talk to, all the staff are lovely and inviting. They have different activities and events but also have a set routine each day. Overall just a lovely nursery and staff all round.
I would give this nursery more than five stars if was able. They have been beyond helpful in helping our little one get comfortable with attending a setting. Like a home from home, my little one has built a very strong relationship with her "teachers". I couldn't recommend this nursery enough.
Amazing school, very hygienic school, lovely staff looking after the kids and help in every situation. Learning techniques, different activities for the children. My child is never unhappy in nursery and I feel safe leaving my child there.
After having my daughter in May 2020 - I definitely noticed the impact of her being born in a lockdown and spending the first year of her life not being around any other people apart from her parents. She found being away from me incredibly difficult. She had done a few months with a childminder where she never fully settled and then we moved areas. I rang around a number of nurseries where I explained how hard she had found it; only to be told she was likely just being manipulative. That was until I rang Elmscot Chester Day Nursery, where I was met with a completely different attitude. I was reassured that we could move slowly with settling in, how they would support her with the process and then invited in for a look around. I went for a look around and was blown away with the cleanliness, friendliness of staff, open-ended play, activities and the overall compassion. I had such a good feeling that I signed up the next day and completed all the forms. My daughter also has a number of allergies.
I highly recommend it! My daughter started in April 2022 and quickly adapted. To this day she still wakes up excited about the day ahead of her. The nursery is beautiful and the programs are amazing: my daughter loves forest school, outside visits, yoga and of course all the reading, singing and etc. The staff are incredible: they are so dedicated, so attentive and you can tell they love what they do. My daughter is obsessed with her carers, at first it was one carer and now she changed rooms so she is crazy about another carer. She made many friends and loves all the big play areas. The outside area is fantastic but she also loves the common room. I love how clean and organized they are. I love how they stimulate free play while still engaging in learning. The communication with the team is superb and I never had any issues or complaints. They always listen and are willing to help. The manager is very helpful, polite and caring, always working hard to assist staff, parents and kids.
This nursery is truly amazing, my little boy loves attending 4 days a week and has made amazing bonds with all staff in the building. All the staff within the building have got time to speak to you and truly care for all the children. There's no other place I would take my child and all the learning that is going on is showing an input into his learning and behaviour. I am going to be truly gutted when he leaves in September as the nursery has been a big part of his life. The partnership with parents is amazing we have just had a meet the team meeting where we got to look at our child's room and also get a look into what they are learning and also what they are aiming for with the children, lots of great ideas and support was given for different things we can do with our children and want to go that extra mile to get to support them for their next adventure. Management are amazing and are very quick at responding to any queries you have and will help you with whatever they can.
My eldest started here in 2018 and youngest in 2020. The staff are very friendly and are interested in learning about home life and incorporating child's likes into their activities. The outdoor space is great they have a large playground and forest school area too with hammock, swing and bug hotel. Both my children have loved being here and their individual needs catered for, they both run in and have a great time and often ask to go at the weekend! Car park to park at drop off and pick up as well as storage for buggies. Very close to train and bus station. Would 100% recommend.
I always have a cheery welcome at the nursery, the staff are so friendly, polite, obviously well trained and have a wonderful relationship with the children relating to their needs and the beginning of their education. My grandson has developed well, his speech is coming along which helps with recognition and communication. His skills in using his hands with the artwork he does, role-playing games, singing and dancing have definitely increased due to his day at the nursery. The nursery is very clean, (shoes off in the baby room), newly renovated, and money has been spent on the premises, obviously well-planned to which rooms needed work doing. I love to see these Victorian schools in full use, history is very important to keep and cherish. Parking outside is great for drop off and pick up and there is a locked shed near the door where you can put your pushchair for the day if you are walking to and from the nursery.
My child has attended the nursery since he was seven months old, my daughter is now also attending. My son loves going and has made lots of friends. He enjoys the different ranges of activities, such as forest school and the class visits they have. The nursery is a very clean and safe environment for the children and learning is promoted through a variety of techniques, so they don't realise they are learning as they think they are playing.
My son has been attending Elmscot since he was 9-months-old. He is now nearly two. He loves it! He feels safe, loves the team and has heaps of fun. The team are brilliant, very kind patient and willing to go that extra mile. The facilities have recently been refurbished, and the team continue to maintain the building to a high standard. The nursery is so clean. Our son is rarely ill, and I’m sure it’s because the nursery is so clean. The outdoor space is considerably large for an inner-city setting. The children go outside every day, if not twice a day. The food is lovely, fresh and locally sourced. The menu is varied and continually changed with very little repetition. Nappies/pampers changed frequently. Our son is cared for in nursery as much as we would care for him at home. The management and finance team are always at the end of the phone. Location is convenient for the train station or working in and out of town.
