View Full Details of Growing Up GreenMy son first started when he was 8 months old and was super happy. Perhaps equally importantly, I also felt really happy with him there, the staff were fantastic with him. I do contract work and Growing up Green has been fantastically flexible to ensure I have the child care I need to get the work done.
My son attended GUG 7 years ago, and despite us moving further away it was the obvious choice for us when looking for childcare for our daughter. The staff are wonderful, so caring and attentive and every time we drop her off/ pick her up you can just see that all the children there are happy and well cared for. Management are always super helpful whenever we need anything. Absolutely love this nursery and would recommend it to everyone!!
Growing Up Green has been a fantastic nursery for both of our children. From baby room through to pre-school, they developed really close, nurturing relationships with staff and key-workers, who got to know their personalities and how to bring out the best in them. There's a wonderful range of engaging activities, from yoga, to Music Mike, regular forest school park trips, lots of garden time, educational activities and cultural celebrations from Diwali and Eid to Christmas, Halloween and Pride. Home-cooked, healthy organic food and cloth nappies were a big bonus for us (since we used cloth at home). They were really supportive with potty training, transition between rooms and transition to school (Balfour & Downs especially) too. It's a wonderful, warm community with lots of opportunities to build connections too - including the annual "Olympics" event and regular parents' evenings. The garden is a bit small but well-used and regular forest school trips out make up for it.
My son joined Growing Up Green at 6 months old and has really thrived in the year that he has attended. The attention he has been given whilst at nursery is really evident in the speed of which he has learnt new skills. The patience that the team have in the babies room is incredible (my son wasn't always the easiest one to put down for a nap) and they are really knowledgeable in a wide range of children's development. My son has grown a lovely attachment to the staff at GUG and really enjoys going there. Also the food he gets at nursery is far superior to what he gets fed at home!
We feel so lucky to have such a wonderful nursery close by for our daughter. The care and support she receives is outstanding. There are so many daily activities, and they go outside as much as possible. There are regular updates to parents via the app and parents evenings, and our questions are always answered by key workers or nursery management. She has strong bonds with all the staff and with the other children there. I am also always impressed with the food they provide and she eats so well when she is there. They also are very happy to follow our lead on things like naps which I hear other nurseries don't do! Overall we're super happy here.
Growing up green is a great nursery! Our eldest went there and they really set her up to thrive in her new infant school. Our youngest who is 15 months now girls to the nursery and us absolutely loving it! The staff are so wonderful, they truly care for the babies/teenies and in the short time she's been there, she's built some really solid relationships with the nursery staff. They always do lovely activities with them, such as painting or get the foam play out etc. the communication with the staff is fab and I'm kept up to date with Marnie's day in terms of sleep, what's she's eaten and nappy changes etc as well as frequent pictures of her playing. We are so happy with the nursery and would recommend it to anyone.
We are so happy with the care our children have received at Growing Up Green. Our son spent 3 wonderful years here and is now thriving at school, thanks in large part to how well the team prepared him for that transition. His time at nursery was filled with engaging activities, nurturing support, and precious friendships. Our 7-months old daughter has now started and she has been welcomed with the same warmth and attentiveness. What sets this nursery apart is also the sense of community they built amongst parent. We've also made amazing friends through the nursery! It's a place where children are seen, supported and celebrated.
It's hard as a new parent letting people outside of family care for your child but the GUG team handled the transition with great care and attention. We soon relaxed as we saw how well cared for our son was. We find the team to be supportive & helpful to parents and intuitive, caring, and professional to the children. The structured play supports his confidence and development & we often find ourselves asking the team for their advice with particular milestones like potty training which they take a very active supportive role. You will also find that they are very good at helping the little ones learn to understand and regulate their emotions, this is further supported by weekly yoga classes which the kids absolutely love. The food is also a big plus at GUG. They do hot lunches and teas which makes our lives so much easier, and it is all freshly made on site. Our second son will be following in his brother's footsteps and enrolling at GUG soon!
Our daughter enjoyed an incredible 3 years at Growing up Green. When we moved from London we chose GUG and have always been extremely happy with the curriculum and care received. The staff are hardworking, caring, knowledgeable and empathetic. Thank you all!
Our daughter has been at Growing up Green, Beaconsfield Rd, Brighton for more than 4 years and has made great friendships with all her group. The care and support she has received from all of the staff has been outstanding. The nursery provided loads of activities to encourage her development and threw in the right amount of hugs where needed. They listened and took positive action whenever I raised concerns and provided us with tips and insight into her life inside the nursery. They organised external fun activities both widening the children's knowledge and assisting parents to make connections. Whenever a health issue arose they followed it up with health information advice on how to manage it.
I am so grateful we chose Growing Up Green (Beaconsfield Villas) for our daughter. She spent four wonderful years there, and I couldn't have asked for a warmer, more nurturing start to her life. The small class sizes have been invaluable, she grew up with the same group of children, and we have formed strong bonds with other families as well. I know all her classmates and the key staff who cared for her by name, which gave us real peace of mind. This close-knit environment is a welcome contrast to larger nurseries, where children and staff often don't know each other's names. The nursery offers a wide variety of rotating, age-appropriate activities and has an on-site chef preparing healthy hot lunches, helping the children develop a love for different foods. Our daughter is now a confident, happy little girl, well-prepared for school. I wholeheartedly give this nursery 10/10 and recommend it to all my friends.
Growing Up Green is a fantastic nursery. They provide a range of age-appropriate activities for the children which are enjoyable and educational, they also provide regular updates on the website. At pick-up, my son is always in a great mood and tells me how much fun he's had. The staff at the nursery, in all the rooms, all seem to genuinely like the children and enjoy being with them. I would highly recommend Growing Up Green.
We're so glad that we chose Growing Up Green for our daughter. The staff are always extremely professional, friendly and enthusiastic no matter what time of the day you speak with them. Our daughter has really thrived while being at the nursery and comes out from each session there absolutely buzzing with excitement. We would, without a shadow of a doubt recommend Growing Up Green to anyone looking for preschool care.
Growing Up Green is an excellent nursery and our twin boys have absolutely loved going since they started a year ago! They have a lovely relationship with their key workers (aunties) who really care about their happiness and development, understand their personality and needs and make them feel welcome and accepted. Our little ones love the activities, the time in the garden, book reading, celebrations and they have developed leaps and bounds since going to Growing Up Green. The team has supported very closely in reviewing their development and we feel there couldn't be a better place for them to be, we totally recommend this nursery.
Growing Up Green is brilliant. Our twins have absolutely loved it there for the last year. They settled in really easily as the staff are so warm and friendly. It’s is a really good size so the children don’t feel overwhelmed at all. I’ve not really been in (due to covid) but the pictures/and reports from the girls look like they have a great variety of activities and loads of fun. They’re always making fun things to bring home too.
Excellent nursery all around! They helped my little one settle in so well. He is well looked after and he is always happy when we drop him off and pick him up. He has thrived there, learning new things every day and having so much fun at the same time. We are grateful to all the staff there!
Our daughter has gone through the nursery from the baby room through to preschool and at every stage the team have been fantastic with her. The staff are supportive and friendly. Through the family days we have been able to meet other parents and get to know the other children which has been lovely.
Our son has been at Growing Up Green since we moved down to Brighton just before he turned two so he has been in the teenies under two's, toddlers and now the preschool room. He was previously at a nursery we were very happy with so we were nervous to move him but he's loved being at Growing Up Green and has made some great friends. He used cloth nappies at home before he potty-trained so we were pleased they use them as standard at the nursery. He has a very special bond with his key worker who was the same for teenies and toddlers and he talks about her everyday, even on non-nursery days. It's clean, friendly, adaptable to the child's needs, receptive to parent feedback, safe and most importantly our son has lots of fun every day. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Growing Up Green to others.
Our daughter loves attending Growing Up Green each week and the staff that look after her there are excellent. Her development has been massively aided by attending the nursery and it really feels like the staff there genuinely care and have her best interests at heart. She's made lots of little friends, is very well looked after and loves to go to nursery. We're really pleased as well with the updates provided by the app and on her development. Would heartily recommend Growing Up Green as a great nursery and a great place for children to attend.
Seeing my son so incredibly happy every day at Growing Up Green is why I love it so much. I think it’s the staff that make it. Their love and care for all the children is so obvious and they’ve even shared some good tips with me. I love how they refresh the activities and he gets so stuck in to the messy play and different types of role play. Being a city based nursery the way they make the most of the rooms and garden is so creative. I really appreciate the time they took to help my son learn to walk when he was a bit slow getting going on this. It’s a brilliant nursery, I really highly recommend.
