Grandir UK has launched a new children’s book designed to help young children understand sustainability through simple, meaningful everyday actions. Brought to life through five charming characters, colourful illustrations and playful storytelling, the book introduces ideas such as turning off lights, reusing materials and caring for nature — showing children that even the smallest steps can make a big difference.
To ensure the book reflects the values it teaches, it has been printed using paper sourced responsibly through FSC, reinforcing Grandir UK’s commitment to sustainable choices throughout the project.
Over the coming weeks, teams across Grandir UK nurseries will be reading the story with children in their rooms and introducing hands-on activities linked to the book. From reusing craft materials to exploring the natural world outdoors, each experience helps children see how they can become tiny eco champions in their own environments.
Crucially, every penny raised from the book will be donated to UNICEF UK, helping extend Grandir UK’s positive impact far beyond its nurseries and into wider communities.
A story that supports children’s development The book has been created to support early years learning in a warm, accessible way. By weaving sustainability into familiar routines, it encourages children to notice the world around them, explore cause and effect and feel empowered to make thoughtful choices.
Caron Mosely-Helbert, Sales & Marketing Director – Head of CSR, Grandir UK said:
“Children are naturally curious about the world, and this book gives them a gentle, joyful way to explore how they can help care for it. The characters are relatable, the actions are simple and the message is full of hope. We want every child to feel that they can make a positive difference, no matter how small they are.”
“We’re also incredibly proud that all proceeds will go to UNICEF UK, helping children across the world thrive. It reflects our deep commitment to supporting children’s development, both inside and outside our nurseries.”
