WHAT WE ARE LEARNING - WEEK COMMENCING 2ND MARCH 2026

Next week we will be -

Clever Cats Next week in Clever Cats we will be celebrating World Book Day! The Clever Cats will be looking at all things Julia Donaldson! We will be spotting differences using 'Monkey Puzzle’, creating silly soup with the witch from ‘Room On The Broom’ and of course tasting Gruffalo crumble!! Don’t forget to dress up on the 5th March as your favourite Julia Donaldson character and bring the book along with you, to share the story! Our song of the week is ‘Row, Row, Row Your Boat’ and our book of the week is ‘The Gruffalo’.

Clever Kittens and Ladybirds Next week the children within the Toddler Room are focusing on World Book Day.

The children are going to be reading several familiar Julia Donaldson stories such as ‘The Gruffalo’, ‘The Baddies’, ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’, ‘The Stickman’ and more and will engage in a range of Julia Donaldson inspired activities.

The children are going to be looking at comparing and categorising the different characters from ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’ such as The Giant, The Giraffe, The Fox and The White Mouse using mathematical language such as ‘Tall’ and ‘Small’.

Butterflies Next week the Baby Unit will be celebrating World Book Day, we will be explore some of our favourite books from the author Julia Donaldson such as ‘The Gruffalo’, ‘What The Ladybird Heard’ and ‘Monkey Puzzle’. The children will be taking part in lots of fun sensory activities linking to some of their favourite books and will be enjoying lots of fun and exciting story times with their key carer.
