Last Updated: 16 Jan 2026 @ 00:00 AM

Next week we will be -

Clever Cats With Burns Night coming up, we will be exploring this in more detail and in particular looking at writing and rhyming. This celebration is a chance to enjoy rhythm, rhyme, music and movement so this is what we will be doing. We will have a go at clapping to a rhythm and even trying to repeat a rhyme. We will have a go at saying Scottish words, trying to copy the dialect. The children will make their own tartan and also dance to traditional Scottish music.

Clever Kittens and Ladybirds Next week the children within the Toddler Room are focusing their learning on Burns Night. The children are going to be exploring the Scottish colours blue and white and will be making their own Scottish flag through a range of creative methods - potato printing, gluing and sticking with tissue paper and simple mark making with pencils and crayons.

The children will also be exploring and becoming familiar with the Scottish culture and will be listening to Scottish music and tasting new foods.   Butterflies Next week the Butterflies will be learning about Burns Night through lots of fun, hands-on experiences. We will be listening to gentle Scottish music, exploring soft tartan fabrics and clapping and moving along to the sounds. These activities will help support their listening skills, curiosity and physical development, while also encouraging confidence as they explore something new in a calm and nurturing way.
