Next week we will be -

Clever Cats & Clever Kittens This week in Preschool we have been considering our New Year’s resolutions and talking about setting realistic goals for ourselves. The children have thought about how they would like to get good at certain skills such as cutting by themselves with scissors, noticing letters and completing jigsaws by themselves. We’ve also been completing patterns.

Over the next couple of weeks we are going to be noticing some of the birds that can be seen in winter so Robins and Thrushes are around and you might hear owl sounds in the night - probably not a Penguin!

We are signed up to the BIG BIRDWATCH so please try to spot birds and name the bird if you can - as in Robin not Roger!

Ladybirds Next week the Ladybirds will be celebrating Burns Night, the children will enjoy dancing to Scottish music and listening to the sounds of bagpipes. The children will explore movement as they dance. We will look at the blue and white colours of the Scottish flag, supporting sensory development and cultural awareness.

Butterflies Next week in the Baby Room the babies will be exploring oats through a sensory activity using soft brushes and scoops. The babies will be encouraged to touch and sweep the oats supporting their sensory development and fine motor skills. This links to Burns Night as oats are a traditional Scottish food commonly used in porridge and haggis, giving the babies an introduction to Scottish culture!
