Last Updated: 15 May 2025 @ 00:00 AM

Next week TicTots Bolton will be learning -

Clever Cats and Clever Kittens Our book of the week is ‘Elmer Again’. It’s coming up to Elmer Day, the day when all grey elephants paint themselves in bright colours. Elmer day is a chance to celebrate the importance of friendship, kindness and inclusivity. Children will be designing their very own Elmer using different types of fabric and colours. We invite you to celebrate Elmer day 2025 on the 23rd May by wearing your favourite colours!

Ladybirds Next week, the children are exploring an Elmer the Elephant-themed tuff tray inspired by the story Elmer by David McKee. The tray will feature a large outline of Elmer filled with grid spaces, where children will be encouraged to match and place colourful blocks or squares to complete Elmer’s patchwork design. As part of the activity, the children will be decorating their own Elmer using colourful tissue paper squares to create a bright and unique patchwork design.

Butterflies Next week in the Baby Room we will be exploring colours, we will be taking the opportunity of Elmer day on Friday to look at different colours all week long making different colours in our Play-Doh and different colours with our painting and messy activities so that we can use single words to name the colours and also help the children to explore their senses. By Friday, we’ll have a big patchwork with all our colours!

We are excited for Elmer Day next Friday! Please dress the children in colourful clothes, this can be one block colour that you can spot on Elmer or you can come as colourful as Elmer!
