WHAT WE ARE LEARNING - MAY 5TH

Clever Cats and Clever Kittens Next week we are learning about VE day and having our own celebration on Thursday. We will make our own bunting to decorate the garden area and talk about why everyone was happy to celebrate the end of the war. We will also continue to do activities about pets and how we need to care for them. Our book of the week will be 'Sometimes I Feel Sunny’.

Ladybirds Next week the Ladybirds will be making their own Union Jack bunting to be put on display for our VE Day celebration with the parents. Children will be exploring the planting tuff tray where they will be using pot and material flowers to plant, using the gardening tools to make marks.

Butterflies Now the weather is getting hotter and hotter, next week babies we are going to be exploring water and fruit water.

We are going to use water and fruit to make sensory water drinking bottles of fruit water, including fruits such as strawberries, pear, and orange. We will be making bottles so that the children can use the bottles like sensory bottles to see the colours and shake the fruit inside with the added bonus of drinking the fruit water to explore both the look of the fruit and the taste. This will be our messy play activity for the week.

We will continue to focus on our book which is Animal Boogie please feel free to share this song and dance along to it at home and also if you are looking at the book together or looking at the pictures that we have shared please ask your child to point to an animal and try to name it, e.g. point to the bear and say “bear” then wait 10 seconds to see if they can copy the word.
