The spotlight was on Early Years professionals in-training at Hampstead Gate Day Nursery in Milton Keynes as they were celebrated by their team for National Apprenticeship Week.
At the setting on Eelbrook Avenue, Apprentices; Chloe Husbands, Chloe Dyson, Maryam Saed, Lily Carberry, Kayliegh Wilkes, Danielle Pauling, Emily Little, Daisy Brown and Belle Lynch were each presented with a chocolate bouquet as a token of appreciation from their adoring colleagues, as well as being encouraged to aim for the role of Manager in the future.
With a ‘careers not jobs’ focus across the company, the Apprentices benefit from Princess Royal Award-winning training, a full range of leadership and development courses and mentoring from functional skills tutors to help them reach their milestones, achieve outstanding outcomes and excel in their careers as Early Years professionals.
Earning their qualifications through the Childbase Training Academy of Excellence, the group spend 80 per cent of their time gaining valuable on-the-job experience and applying their skills within nursery, and the other 20 per cent completing their theory in classroom-based learning with support from industry experts and dedicated trainer assessors.
Hampstead Gate Day Nursery Manager, Elkie Taylor explained;
“We are thrilled to be celebrating our Apprentices this week and honouring the incredible progress they are making in their studies. Their hard work and dedication to the children at our nursery is truly inspiring, and we are excited to support them as they continue to grow into the next generation of Early Years leaders.”
Celebrating over 100 successful graduates from the Academy since the last National Apprenticeship Week, Childbase Partnership Executive Directors made surprise visits to their 44 day-nursery settings to mark the occasion, with special recognition awards and gifts handed out to 12 highly commended Apprentices who had been nominated by their tutors.
Upon successful completion of their apprenticeship, learners are guaranteed a role at Childbase Partnership; ranked Number 1 for Quality in the 2024 Nursery World league tables. They also receive a qualification payment, above sector average salaries, further training and full benefits, including Partnership Reward Days, giving them the opportunity to earn up to 20 extra days paid annual leave per year on top of usual holiday allocations.
The Buckinghamshire-based Academy currently offers apprenticeships in Early Years Practitioner Level 2, Early Years Educator Level 3, Team Leader Supervisor and Early Years Practitioner Level 5, with a Level 3 Business Administrator course enrolling imminently.
National Apprenticeship Week runs from 10th – 16th February 2025.
