Clever Cats and Clever Kittens

The book of the week ‘Kindness is a superpower’ the children will be talking about how kindness is something anyone can learn. Helping others is the best thing to do. When you are kind, kindness can come back to you. This will help support children to talk about feelings and emotions and understand sharing is caring.

Ladybirds

Next week the Ladybirds will be exploring the nursery rhyme tuff tray for nursery rhyme week, this will be filled with nursery rhyme cards and the props that go with the rhyme to support involvement, e.g., finger puppets. The Ladybirds will also be decorating traffic lights for Road Safety week with the colours green, yellow and red, using cars to travel on outlined shapes and talking about how we keep safe when we go out on our daily mile walks. 

Caterpillars

Next week the Caterpillars will be focusing our attention on Nursery Rhyme Week. In the baby room we love singing nursery rhymes at every given opportunity and we support the children to choose which songs they would like to sing using visual card prompts. Each day we will be focusing in on one nursery rhyme, singing this with props to support engagement from the children and encouraging them to repeat actions and words from within those familiar rhymes.
