What We Are Learning 26th August

Clever Cats

We will be talking about our feelings and emotions linking in with the Colour Monster Story. Linking each colour to the emotion in the book while being able to give examples of when we are happy, sad, angry etc. This will help support children manage their feelings giving them a chance to express themselves. We will be looking at the different parts of books and labelling them for example - the spine, pages, blurb etc.

Ladybirds

This week the Ladybirds will be looking at recognising their name tag on the table with the real life objects related to their name. In the tuff tray the ladybirds will be exploring teeth brushing activities where they will help to clean the dirty teeth. On our craft table the children will be creating a self portrait looking at themselves in the mirror and drawing what they see.

Caterpillars

This week in Caterpillars we’ll be water play where the children can give their baby dolls a gentle bath. This activity will help the children understand the importance of hygiene and develop their coordination skills. On our activity table, the children will be diving into the vibrant world of primary colours, we will be using a variety of materials to explore these colours, helping the children to understand.
