Devoted fundraisers from Hampstead Gate Day Nursery in Milton Keynes were delighted to collectively complete a cycle from their setting to Paris to raise vital funds for charity.
In order to mark the start of the Olympics Opening Ceremony, parents and colleagues from the award-winning setting on Eelbrook Avenue spent a week taking turns on the nursery exercise bike during breaks and drop-off and pick-up time to make up the 270 mile distance, raising £160.00 for the British Heart Foundation, their nominated ‘Charity of the Year’.
The Milton Keynes to Paris cycle is the latest in a series of fundraising initiatives for Hampstead Gate, who have recently enjoyed a Summer Fayre, bake sale, raffles and more for the cause, which will help fund life-saving research into congenital heart disease.
Hampstead Gate Deputy Manager, Katie Hughes explained; “It was so inspiring to see everyone come together to support each other and work towards a common goal. The sense of community and camaraderie was truly heartwarming and we are incredibly lucky to have an amazing network of nursery families and colleagues who want to give back. The children have also loved cheering us on and learning about the Olympics.”
Hampstead Gate have adopted the British Heart Foundation for a year-long fundraising and awareness drive.
