Kiddi Caru Day Nursery Downend Road awarded Good rating by Ofsted

Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool Downend Road, which is part of Grandir UK, has achieved a Good rating on their recent Ofsted inspection.

On 21st May 2024, the setting was awarded Good across all four areas of inspection. These are Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development and Leadership and Management. Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool Downend Road is located in a picturesque, fully converted Victorian vicarage. Children have access to a large walled garden where they can enjoy playing, learning and exploring in all weathers. Throughout their report, the Ofsted inspector was full of praise for the team at Downend Road. They highlighted how “staff create warm and nurturing relationships with children at the nursery. They give children lots of praise and encouragement as they do things for themselves. Children are well cared for and show that they feel relaxed and happy.”

“Children benefit from an interesting and balanced curriculum. Leaders work with staff to create a curriculum that builds on children's existing skills and knowledge. Staff ensure that they provide lots of opportunities for children to revisit and practise new skills.”

The inspector also positively noted that “leaders and staff have worked hard since the last inspection to address the identified weaknesses. There is a clear vision for the development of the nursery. Staff have undertaken a wide range of training to help them to develop their knowledge and gain a greater understanding of their roles.”
