Sports Day at Knowle Green Day Nursery

There were exciting opportunities at every turn for children at Knowle Green Day Nursery in Staines as they showcased their skills during a special Sports Day at the setting.

Welcoming their proud families for the annual event, pre-schoolers were delighted to try a series of physical activities and group challenges for the first time, including an egg and spoon race, balancing bean bag race, three legged race and a running race.

Together, children worked in teams to follow the rules and learn new techniques, all whilst building on their motor skills, balance, hand-eye co-ordination and self-esteem, before watching their parents take part in an exciting race against nursery teachers.

To further the learning experience, children spoke about the importance of staying safe in the sun and taking care of their bodies through a balanced diet and exercise.

Knowle Green Manager, Chanelle Weaver explained;

“Our Sports Day was a huge success and we loved welcoming our nursery families for this event. All the children showed so much effort and enthusiasm and really immersed themselves in the games. They showed an incredible sense of team spirit and were thrilled to receive their participation medals and certificates at the end of the day.”
