Dicky Birds Maple Road achieves Ofsted Outstanding

We are beyond thrilled to announce that our wonderful Dicky Birds Maple Road Day Nursery and Preschool in Surbiton, has been awarded Outstanding in their latest Ofsted inspection.

To have our wonderful setting formally recognised as Outstanding by Ofsted reinforces the incredible work the nursery has been doing to deliver the highest-possible quality care to our children every day.

On 9th May 2024, the nursery achieved Outstanding across all areas of inspection including Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, and Leadership & Management.

The nursery and preschool is part of prominent nursery group Grandir UK and is situated at the junction of Maple and Claremont Road in the leafy West London suburb of Surbiton. It has great transport links, being situated just a short distance from Surbiton train station, and the children benefit from exploring the local area on daily educational and fun outings.

The report commented on “the very strong” relationships children have developed with team at Maple Road “who know them exceptionally well.” Children’s confidence, independence and positive attitude to learning was also highlighted along with how they develop “excellent communication and language skills” thanks to the talented staff team.

“Leaders and managers have a deep understanding of how children learn,” the report reads. “Staff plan rich learning experiences that follow children's interests and support children to build on what they already know and can do.”

The inspector also noted that “partnerships with parents are extremely good. Parents receive regular updates about their child's development and take home resource bags to continue their children's learning at home, such as learning about brushing their teeth. Staff plan a variety of social events to build relationships even further, which parents say create a strong sense of community and give children a sense of belonging."
