Work experience at Windermere Day Nursery

Windermere Day Nursery in Kettering welcomed another child through its doors as staff marked ‘Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day’, an annual event that is largely popular in the United States.

Hollie McDonald, Team Leader at the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery in Haweswater Road brought her 12 year old daughter Morgan to the setting in order to give her an insight into the way her workplace operates, as well as the careers paths available to her in the future.

Hollie explained;

“Having Morgan at work with me has been a brilliant experience and has given her a much better understanding of what I do on a daily basis. She has always been interested in my job so for her to see this first hand was lovely. I feel that these direct experiences give children a much better sense of direction and clarity when it comes to deciding on their future.”

‘Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day’ is celebrated on the 25th April.
