Television’s ‘X-Factor’ star, Chico, may have been the head-line act but it was a Buckingham day nursery team who stole the show in a ‘Best of the Best’ annual awards ceremony.
Named ‘Nursery of the year’ the childcare and education experts at the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding Field House in Tingewick Road are on a ‘roll’ after parent praise put them in the Top 10 – out of 1,851 nurseries in the South East – of a national award scheme for the second year running.
Collecting the latest trophy at a ‘Rio Carnival-styled’ awards ceremony in Milton Keynes, Field House Manager Kellie Seaton said: “It has been an amazing few weeks, and we couldn’t be more delighted or honoured, because these awards are proof we are on the right track in giving our children the best possible nursery experience.
“I am surrounded by dedicated professionals and wonderfully supportive parents; we work together and as a result our children thrive. That is the real reward,” she said.
That support put them in the top 10 of regional league tables of Ofsted-rated good and outstanding day nurseries and an award from daynurseries.co.uk, the online directory and industry website, which scrutinised thousands of on-line parent recommendations. Parent nominations also pushed the Field House Nursery team into first place in the ‘Best of the Best’ Annual awards for the employee-owned Childbase Partnership which has 44 day nurseries throughout the South of England.
The gala evening featured a performance by ‘X-Factor’ star, Chico - whose debut single ‘Chico Time’ toppled Madonna off the top spot of UK Singles chart – who performed for 900 at Arena MK. Trophies were presented by Childbase Partnership CEO Mike Thompson and visitors from Goodstart Early Learning in Australia, Rod Nadwie-Smith, State Operations Manager, and Claire Boschetti, Senior Early Years Advisor.
Childbase and Goodstart operate an exchange programme with practitioners from both companies – on ‘Once in a Lifetime Opportunities’ – travelling across the world to study and share best practice.
