Children and staff at Kiddi Caru’s day nursery in Whiteley are all getting ready to Shimmy with Timmy in order to raise funds for Sport Relief this year.
On Friday 18th March, the older children will be doing sports activities and music and movement, while the 2-3 year olds will Shimmy with Timmy along to the Lambada and Zumba dressed in their favourite dancing outfits. The 1-2s will be dressing up and having their own danceathon and the babies will be joining in the fun with sing and sign.
Sport Relief is one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events encouraging people to get involved in lots of sporty activities to raise cash and change lives. The money raised is spent by the charity to help people living incredibly tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.
Theresa Birch, Regional Manager at Kiddi Caru, said: “Timmy is one of the children’s favourite characters and incorporating him into our fund raising event is a brilliant idea. We are all ready to dance the day away on the 18th March and I hope that we are able to raise lots of money for this worthwhile charity at the same time.”
