Nursery Practitioner

We are looking for a qualified Nursery Practitioner to join The Butterfly Patch at Morden Park, our nursery and Forest School set within a beautiful 190-acre park.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and wants to be part of a nursery where outdoor learning is a real part of everyday life, not just an occasional activity.

Our Morden Park setting gives children the opportunity to explore, play and learn both indoors and outdoors, with access to a unique natural environment right on the doorstep.

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will provide high-quality care and education, support children’s learning and development through play, plan engaging experiences and build strong relationships with children and families. You will work closely with the rest of the nursery team to create a safe, happy and inspiring environment where children can thrive.

What we’re looking for

You must hold a recognised Level 2 or above Early Years/Childcare qualification. We welcome applicants qualified at Levels 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6, including Early Years Educator, Early Years Teacher or QTS qualifications where appropriate.

You should:

• Have a good understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding
• Enjoy supporting children’s learning and development through play
• Be warm, approachable and reliable
• Work well as part of a team
• Communicate confidently with children, parents and colleagues
• Have a positive and proactive approach
• Enjoy outdoor learning and being outside with children

Previous nursery or early years experience is preferred, although the right attitude, qualification and enthusiasm are just as important.

Hours and working pattern

Full-time roles are normally worked over 4 longer days per week, giving you an additional day away from work each week.

Five-day working and part-time options may also be available.

The nursery operates Monday to Friday.

Salary

£30,000 to £36,000 FTE per year, depending on qualification, experience, skills and responsibilities.
