Early Years SENCO

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our vibrant team. This vital role involves leading and coordinating support for young children with diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive, nurturing environment that promotes growth and development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to early childhood education, possess excellent communication skills, and have experience working with children requiring special education support. You will play a key role in fostering a positive learning atmosphere, collaborating with staff and families, and implementing tailored strategies to meet each child's unique needs.

Duties

• Lead the identification, assessment, and planning of support for children with special educational needs within the early years setting.
• Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) that align with each child's developmental goals.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists (including speech therapy and applied behaviour analysis specialists), and parents to ensure consistent support strategies.
• Provide guidance on behaviour management techniques and conduct training sessions for staff on inclusive teaching practices.
• Oversee toddler care, preschool activities, and physical education programs to promote holistic development.
• Monitor progress through regular reviews, proofread educational materials for clarity and accuracy, and adjust plans as necessary.
• Mentor junior staff members, offering support in early childhood education best practices and classroom management.
• Maintain detailed records of interventions, assessments, and progress reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
