Lunchtime Educator

Lunchtime Educator provides caring and flexible support to ensure the smooth running of the nursery during the busy lunchtime period. Working typically from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, the role involves supervising meals, interacting and playing with children, tidying and preparing areas, providing comfort and helping children settle for sleep where needed. A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential. Applicants should be caring, reliable and flexible, with an enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references required before appointment.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To contribute to the creation of a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children.

2. To care for children and follow instructions and systems to ensure consistent, high-quality care.

3. To be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any concerns immediately – in accordance with child protection and safeguarding policies.

4. To play and interact with the children inside and outside.

5. To be reliable and punctual, maintaining staffing ratios at all times.

6. To interact warmly with children and parents, supporting colleagues to fulfil their key person responsibilities.
