Job Summary
We are looking for two passionate, caring and confident Room Leaders to join our brand new nursery opening in September! This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new nursery from the very beginning, helping to shape the culture, environment and quality of practice from day one.
We have two Room Leader opportunities available: one leading our 9 place under 2’s room and one leading our 24 place 2-3 year old room. We are looking for confident, nurturing educators and future leaders who are excited to create high-quality early years environments where children feel safe, settled and inspired!
The successful candidates must be available to start between 17th August and 7th September, as we will be completing induction, training and nursery preparation ahead of opening.
We can consider full time, part time or compressed hours. (Such as working 4 longer days with a day off each week.)
We are looking for someone who truly enjoys working with young children, leads with warmth and kindness, and understands the importance of creating a calm, nurturing and inspiring environment. You will play a key role in supporting the children, families and team within your room, while helping to build a positive and reflective culture across the nursery.
The role will include:
- Leading the day-to-day running of your room, ensuring children and team are safe, happy and well supported
- Building strong, positive relationships with children, families and the team
- Supporting and guiding the team to provide high-quality care, learning and interactions
- Planning and providing engaging experiences based on children’s interests, needs and next steps
- Creating a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children
- Supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing through strong knowledge of the EYFS
- Overseeing observations, assessments and next steps for children in your room
- Supporting daily care, including mealtimes, sleep times, personal care and transitions
- Being a positive role model for the team, demonstrating high standards of practice
- Working closely with the management team to support the smooth running of the nursery day
- Communicating with parents and carers in a warm, professional and respectful way
- Supporting new team members, apprentices and students within the room
- Following nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety and behaviour support
- Helping to create a positive, supportive and reflective team culture
We offer:
- Flexible working patterns, including full-time, part-time and compressed hours
- 95% childcare discount for your own children
- Quarterly bonus opportunities of up to 8%
- Lunch provided
- Uniform provided
- Pension scheme
- Career progression opportunities
- Opportunities to progress into senior leadership roles
- Mental health and wellbeing support
- Paid training
- Employee rewards and recognition scheme
- Team social events
- A brand new, purpose-built nursery environment
- Ongoing training and development
- A supportive team culture
- The opportunity to help build something special from the very beginning
We are looking for someone who is kind, reliable, enthusiastic and committed to giving children the best possible start. This role would suit a current Room Leader, a future leader, or an experienced Early Years Educator who is ready to take the next step. You will need to be confident in supporting others, communicating with families and helping your room to run smoothly each day.
A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification is required for this role. Previous experience as a Room Leader, Third in Charge, senior educator or experienced Level 3 practitioner would be desirable. Paediatric First Aid is desirable, however we will get this for you if not.
Enhanced DBS checks and references will be required. The nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
